I have had such a horrible experience to the point causing 2 hospital stays. The first time would not help until I had a colonoscopy. Well I had one and got terribly worse. They told me I had severe, pancolotis UC and basically gave me script for steroids and sent me on my way. I kept telling them I needed something I was so ill. I was in so much pain and was bleeding. Finally I was white as a ghost and frail. My blood test came back, and my hemoglobin was a 6. When I got to hospital could barely walk. They placed me in the hospital and not only did I need a blood transfusion right away, I also had c diff. The lack of care caused havoc to me. I was on there for 5 days. Got released and still had issues with getting my script. Dr. Ellis is great but his supporting staff is horrible. His PA from the beginning would not believe the pain I was in and help me in anyway. To the point I would leave crying my eyes out. Then his PA would not refill my steroids as I writing and calling daily all day- guessed where I ended up again? The hospital with c diff again. ... for another 5 days. This has been a journey I cannot explain. Guess why I am in this page again? Because I cannot get anyone to fill my scripts. It's insane what I and others are going thru. Our lives in their hands and so are our medical bills. Do better. It's inhumane

PAIN after a Colonoscopy and call for an appointment and it’s 3 days before I can be seen again…. What has happened to our Health (non care ) system
So I called a left a VM for the MA on the 11th or 12th in pain. ( they said they have an24 hour callback time) I just received my call back on the 23rd. Possibly because 1 person has the responsibility of 3 different Doctors patients. That is asinine, I was an MA. Very very poor patient care. They got their $ for the procedures they performed, and could care less once it was over.

Edit: I left a voicemail, 3 1/2 weeks later I received a phone call back. I plan on finding a new Gastro- obviously, this has way to many patients or just plain ol do not care. Like most in Pensacola

Totally unacceptable. I have been waiting for 4 days for the "referral coordinator" to call me to make an appointment. I went thru the ER last Thursday night. Diagnosed with inflamed gallbladder and gall stones. I was discharged with NO pain medication. I cannot understand WHY the gastro department is so inept.
And don't reply with your " we're sorry" response. FIX IT!!!

I give Dr. Magalick five stars. His MA one if I could give her zero I would. I worked in the healthcare field over thirty plus years and never in my life seen anything like her. I left over 8 messages and she never returned my calls. I had to put my sick husband in the car and make a trip up there to get answers to my questions.please work on getting better office staff.

Just go somewhere else. I should have payed attention to the negative reviews but I was reassured by my doctor they weren't that bad. I like my doctor but I have to think she has to pull the company line at some point and didn't know how truly awful this place was.

I can go into a long story but basically the ability to get ahold of someone was awful and when you got to a person often they would forward you on to someone else, a machine leaving you on hold until it eventually hangs up, or a phone that would ring for 5 minutes and eventually hang up. I wasn't happy the medical staff but they may have been fine but the office stands between you and them. They will likely blame the phone issues on installing a new system but there is more organizational issues here and a phone system change isn't causing those problems and won't solve them either.

In basic comparison I went to GastroHealth and even though it was a bit assembly line feeling they seemed to have an idea of what they were doing. For example, they gave me a date and time for the procedure while I was at the office. Baptist said the would call me, about a week later the call and give a date, about two weeks before they finally give you the time. Is this that bad of a difference, only if you count that if you ever miss a call getting in contact with them is like pulling teeth. Their system maximizes the interaction which they do worst. It puts significant stress on you when the better option is to simply go across the street.

"I am the Zarn, heed my warning ..." 😀. If you don't then I hope you have a better experience than I and many others.

Fyi, their contact us for a giving a bad review seems to amount to nothing. Best I got out of it was some snarky comment about "the patient misunderstanding..." which was not the case. It took three different calls at different times of the day to finally cancel my appointment.

update 9/18- Called for the 14th time since June. This time I was able to get some info out of the call center girl. The people we are getting ahold of don't even work at the hospital, they have used a call center to displace calls they no longer take, this is why every time you get through to someone they sound like they have no idea what to do and just say "we will leave them a message"......THIS SHOULD BE ILLEGAL FOR A HOSPITAL PROVIDING MEDICAL ASSITANCE TO HUMANS TO DISPATCH MEDICAL CALLS TO A FREAKING CALL CENTER!!!!! UNEXCUSABLE. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND START GETTING THESE PEOPLE SCHEDULED FOR THE MEDICAL NEEDS!!!!!!!! NOW!~!!!!!!!

Every single time I’ve had to try and get a gastro appointment from my doctor I have had to wait months with no call backs, hung up on multiple times while on hold all to only still be sitting here 3 months later going back to my primary doctor appointment to tell him how bad their gastro department is and how I STILL have yet to have an appointment scheduled…..gotta love the places that can’t even call a patient in less than 3 months with bleeding issues…..thanks Baptist……..

Received a letter they have been trying to reach me to schedule but I have received zero phone calls. Tried to call the number provided multiple times and just disconnects. Called again and pushed a different number and got the answering service and the lady was rude and transferred me before I could tell her what was happening. She transferred to the clinic where it just disconnects. So after seeing these other reviews I guess the workers there don’t want to use the phones.

Update- I’m not sure if they called me because of the review, writing my Dr and telling her what was happening, or from me putting a request for an appointment online. I’m scheduled next month so we will see how it goes.

Sorry to sound like a broken record but obviously they cannot handle their workload or the staff is incompetent. I was excited about the new hospital location. For me it’s closer and more convenient so I gave it a try. They told me someone would call to schedule procedures. They called couple days later and I didn’t get to phone in time. I called them back immediately and left detailed message. I went back and looked at their reviews. Wow. Their review rating was only 1.2 at the time. I will always check reviews from here on out. I waited almost two weeks before deciding to go back to group I had been with prior. Baptist finally called me back. lol after I had had already made new appt somewhere else gone to appt and scheduled for procedures.
