I scheduled an Annual Physical with Dr. Kawa, expecting a routine check-up covered by my insurance. To my surprise, I later received a bill for a completely different service. There was no transparency about the charges, and I was never informed that my visit would be coded differently.

Beyond the billing issue, Dr. Kawa was cold and unwelcoming. Instead of engaging with me as a patient, he started the visit by bringing up notes from MyChart from my actual primary physician, which felt impersonal and dismissive. The overall experience was uncomfortable, and I did not feel cared for as a patient.

I would not recommend Dr. Kawa for anyone looking for a compassionate and professional healthcare experience.

Very slow and under staffed for blood draw from opening. Arrived at 7:20, still waiting at 8:20. Room is full with patients waiting. All seats taken since my arrival one hour ago.
Other people told me the line is backed up when they open at 7:00.

dr Sarah Adams falsified records; very alarming. She claimed I was prediabetic so she could push weight loss meds. Meanwhile my appt was for a cough, which she also failed to diagnose after listening to my lungs. Then when I told her my cough was the reason for a visit, she proceeded to diagnose me with chronic cough, without following proper protocols to arrive at such a diagnosis. I see she is no longer with the practice. Not surprising. Beware as I’ve learned she’s not out “on her own”

Very efficient Baptist Blood Lab option to draw blood in Nocatee compared to others outside the area. Lines at 7:00 AM when they first open due to almost everyone is fasting, but yet it was easy in and out if you wait until 8:30 AM

The pediatric doctors are amazing! Dr. Knight has taken such good care of our baby boy. We’ve never had a problem getting in for sick visits. Also, if your baby is sick, they have you call when you arrive so they can ensure your child isn’t in contact with any other sick children in the waiting room. Could not be happier!

Our first office visit since moving to Jacksonville. Of course, the first visit paperwork.
The staff was very helpful and patient walking us through the process. Courteous and friendly.
When the nurse took over, she explained the wellness exam process and we met
Dr. Joshua Harrison, our new primary care physician.
Dr. Harrison spent time explaining at length preliminary tests we had before our first meeting.
He met with us individually.
Dr. Harrison was thorough, professional and friendly.
We were lucky to have chosen this primary care office.
Very pleased and highly recommend this medical facility.

Update to my original review, one week later —- Yesterday we were supposed to have my daughters rescheduled appointment. We moved other doctors appointments and rescheduled meetings at work so that we could be available. Guess what? They called the day of and told us it needed to be rescheduled because the doctor was not available and they incorrectly scheduled the appointment.

Beyond frustrating. We scheduled behavioral health appointments for our kids in October 2021 and the first new patient appointment we could get was in January 2022. Our pediatrician very reluctantly agreed to do medication management in the interim. We were called at 7:58am to change our 8am appointment to a telehealth visit when we were already in the building and (by the way) the visit will be $300 because Blue Cross doesn’t cover telehealth appointments. No other options - it was basically an attitude that felt like “Take it or leave it, lady. Doesn’t matter to me.” Of course we couldn’t drop that kind of cash immediately —and we have two kids in the same situation with back-to-back appointments so it would have been $600. We asked to reschedule and the soonest they can be seen is another 6 weeks from now at 11:30 which means they’ll miss a good portion of a school day and I’ll miss an entire day of work. Zero compassion, zero willingness to be remotely flexible, I feel trapped, backed into a corner for care and without options. Incredibly disappointed with our entire experience and we haven’t even met a doctor yet.

Agree with other comments. Will only do healthy visits and will not see you if you are sick. My last call when I needed help, I was told to go to the ER or to one of the doc-in-a-box - which both options present a higher co-pay. Very disappointing especially after expanding to the larger location.

Updated: now allowing appointments. Be prepared to wear a mask.
