The staff are AMAZING, Dr Dayal and his PA, Reena are very attentive and caring. They take the time to listen and ask questions that show they care and are trying to help, instead of shuffling you through like a number. Amazing Dr, amazing staff. 10/10 would recommend if you need to be seen for autoimmune disorders

I wanted to give zero stars, but that was not an option. After multiple attempts to establish care at this medical facility, I must express my profound disappointment with the administrative operations that have repeatedly wasted my time and impacted my professional obligations.

My first concerning incident occurred several weeks ago when I arrived for a scheduled test only to be informed that the technician had not reported for work. What is particularly frustrating is that this was not the first appointment of the day, yet no one contacted me to reschedule, resulting in unnecessary lost wages from taking time off work.

More recently, I arrived over 30 minutes early for my 10:45am appointment. Despite promptly checking in and completing payment, I remained in the waiting room until 11:30am without being called back. Upon inquiry, a helpful staff member (the male) explained that I had not been properly registered in the system by the front desk receptionist (the incompetent Hispanic female). Despite assurances of immediate attention, by 11:45am—an hour after my scheduled appointment—I still had not been seen. This unacceptable delay caused me to be late for my work obligations.

When requesting to speak with management about these systematic failures, I was informed the manager was "unavailable" and would need to be contacted later—further evidence of the facility's disregard for patient concerns. The staff member who mishandled my check-in showed no remorse for the significant inconvenience caused.

These repeated administrative failures demonstrate a fundamental breakdown in patient care protocols. As a result, both my mother and I will be returning to our previous provider despite the longer travel distance. The convenience of location cannot compensate for the consistent disrespect shown for patients' time and professional commitments.

I intend to file a formal complaint with the Florida Department of Health regarding these serious lapses in patient care standards. I strongly recommend that management implement comprehensive front desk training and establish accountability measures for appointment management.

I never intended to leave a review, but after my experience, I feel it's important to share. I've been seeing Dr. Arroya-Avila since the fall of 2023 for rheumatoid arthritis, and this is also Dr. Dayal's office. My experience has been more than disappointing.
Dr. Arroya-Avila typically spends only about two minutes with me during visits, focusing mainly on prescribing various medications without considering my overall health or exploring other treatment options. While the medication helped initially, the process involved several trial-and-error phases before settling on a biologic. What frustrated me further was the constant need for labs and X-rays without much attention to my broader care needs. It’s assembly line healthcare at its finest.
The office claims to serve over 3,000 patients (according to the excuse-making of a front desk worker), which is a supposed reason for the limited time spent (and apparently for everything else). The biggest issue for me, however, has been the communication. The office does not answer their phone at all. I spoke with someone once or twice throughout the year in 2024. They prefer text messages, but every time I needed a medication refill, I had to wait for a response, including this most recent time where it took over a week. They told us “…sorry but the beginning of the year is busy for us” (paraphrased). When we switched insurance in December 2024, hoping for a better experience with the pharmacy, my husband confirmed that our new insurance was in-network. Because of this, we proceeded with the change, and I later reached out to request a prior authorization for my medication after the insurance went into effect. I was told it would take 1-5 business days for a faxed determination. However, when I contacted my insurance, they hadn't received anything.
I followed up repeatedly, by phone and text, as I was running out of medication. My husband also tried contacting the office. Eventually, we received a text saying it would take 4-6 weeks for the prior authorization—something I’d never been told before. I reached out to my insurance, who confirmed it doesn’t take that long, and they were also unaware of such a delay.
At our wit’s end, we decided to drive an hour to the office to pick up medication samples they had offered because I ran out of meds. Upon explaining our situation to the front desk, we were given the runaround. It turns out they hadn't confirmed our new insurance, the prior authorization was not properly sent, and no follow up was done. They had assured us back on December 11th that our insurance was in-network, but today they said that it’s not. No one contacted us to inform us that they had stopped accepting our insurance, and I feel misled. (All of this is documented if anyone is looking for confirmation). How they claim to have done the prior authorization through a plan that they claim not to accept is still a mystery.
Their phone and text system also operates under the rule that if you contact them more than once, you "go to the back of the line" and will have to wait 24-48 additional hours for a response. This was only told to us when we went into the office. I find this extremely unprofessional and unacceptable, especially when I'm in urgent need of my medication. The people who need them the most are often going to be the people who call the most. So the people with the most urgent needs are then bumped to the back of the line.
The review continues with my husband to fully understand the situation.

Dr. Arroyo-Avila, i've been seeing her for 8 months. Originally she was my second opinion. I liked her and she gave me hope for the future. The other RA doctor was not a very good doctor and not moving fast. I was in a bad place. Dr. Arroyo-Avila is working hard to put me in remission. We have a long ways to go. I am thankful that I found her. She is my blessing and very sweet. Her assistant is wonderful. The staff in the office they make you feel like you're at home. Thank you everyone for being nice to me. I will recommend this office. Thanks! Elena Alfaro

Review continued from Erin Diggs
Rheumatoid arthritis causes excruciating pain and brain fog when untreated. I need my meds to prevent this, especially as I have small children. This is not aspirin. It should be taken extremely seriously and the Drs at this facility have a duty of care like any other. This duty has not been fulfilled and I have been allowed to go with no meds for a painful auto-immune disease. Ultimately, I’m now out of medication and have no clear answers. I've decided to search for a new rheumatologist, as I no longer feel this office is a good fit and they don’t accept the insurance they specifically said they were in-network for . Navigating an autoimmune disease is already challenging, and this experience has caused a lot of unnecessary stress, pain and disruption. I’m grateful to be working with a functional medicine doctor who takes a more comprehensive approach to my health. I understand that medication is sometimes necessary, but holistic care is equally important—and this office didn’t seem interested in considering anything other than switching meds every time one didn’t work. I hope my experience is not typical, but I felt it was important to share. Claiming to serve over 3,000 patients shouldn't be an excuse for poor communication and lack of attention to care considering they are the ones that decide their patient load. I understand that much more money is to be made by operating a health assembly line but it shouldn’t come at the cost of the health of their patients. I hope they make improvements, because patient care should always come first.

The practice really needs to improve on advocating for their patients and informing patients of available resources. My mother has had a horrible experience with obtaining very expensive speciality medication. It is very difficult to reach anyone at the office. You have to drive to office to reach anyone from the team.

I started seeing Dr. Mariangeli Arroyo-Avila in 2021 and was hardly able to walk more than a few feet at that time. After getting an official diagnosis and treatment plan I was able to move better than I had in years. I will always be thankful for that however I am currently at a place where I am again experiencing painful symptoms that are limiting my mobility due to waiting for prescriptions to be sent in since September 4th. On September 4, I informed the front desk via text and voicemail that my insurance changed and I would need my prescriptions to resubmitted. I understood that it can take some time to get approved due to insurance denials however it has reached a point where I am questioning if standards of care are being met. Since September 4th, I have documentation that I have followed up 9 times plus an additional time during my last appointment and in that time my pharmacy is showing that they have only sent in two prescriptions and have not responded to the denials. Today I received documentation from the front desk of the last response they were able to find in regard to the last request they sent. According to what they sent, my pharmacy faxed last denial on October 1st. Today is October 29th so they have neglected to send an appeal or a new prior authorization for a different medication since September despite my multiple follow up attempts. This is not the first time I have had trouble getting them to send in prescription requests to the pharmacy, however it is by far the worst.
