Wish you cared about your patients. Had a terrible experience with Anthem (both system and their agents) trying to help my mom with her doctors appointment and medical needs.

Had a surgery that I called before hand to make sure was going to be covered at full cost because my doctor advised I do so because they have a hard time getting reimbursed for this surgery and make patients pay out of pocket and then have them file claims to get reimbursed by the insurance company. I called my insurance company and they said yes and not to worry I would get reimbursed and would just need to submit a claim after the surgery. After the surgery I did so and it got denied. I got pushed around back and forth for months on how to submit the claim. After much stress and long phone calls they finally told me it wouldn’t be covered. I then had to escalate my issue with the California department of managed care who finally found them at fault and got my money back for me…it took 7 months. They are absolutely the worst customer service and I advise anyone looking into purchasing insurance to not use anthem blue cross.

I would give a -1 if I can. This company is horrible, their claim processing department is ignorant. I submitted claims for chiropractor treatments and they denied most of the claims even though they are the same as the ones they approved. It has been a month working with customer service and still no progress. They don't allow me to talk to anyone beyond customer service. Stay away!

I FOUND IT FRIGHTENING AND CONTROLLING THAT AN ANTHEM BLUE CROSS BOT LEFT ME A PHONE MESSAGE, ENCOURAGING ME TO GET A MEDICAL CHECK-UP WITH A DOCTOR ON THE ANTHEM MEDICAL CARD. WHAT?! I WOULD NEVER SUBMIT TO SUCH CONTROL IN A TRILLION YEARS! I JUST CANCELLED MY ANTHEM COVERAGE.

Awful. Horrible company. High premiums and assign you PCPs that haven’t accepted their insurance in month. It’s literally impossible to use this insurance for anything. Itd be more beneficial for me not to have any insurance at this point.

Literally the worst. I have had better experiences with cheaper competitors. Every single time you call customer service, the employees are 100% incompetent and absolutely useless. Getting anything taken care of (dealing with claims, medical referrals, etc) takes 5 times longer than it logically should. If I could give this insurance company 0 stars I would, I look forward to cancelling my coverage next month.
