I would give 0 stars if I could. Extremely rude and shady business practices.

From the first contact they lied to me. First, they promised me Josephine Aideloje was a psychiatrist when I asked to confirm. She is not. She is a psychiatric nurse, which is fine, but don't lie to me. Josephine then acted like I was a nuisance during both of my appointments, appearing distracted and not answering me. She also did not listen to me and tried 5 separate times to prescribe me a medication that I told her not only didn't work but also gave me terrible side effects. She told me she knew better than me and that I shouldn't question her. After that second appointment, I hung up early and immediately called Kaiser to transfer me to an in house psychiatrist.

Then, two months later, they made an appointment for me without consulting me. She tried to tell me it auto schedules every month but that can't be true because I hadn't been seen in two months. She then proceeded to tell me that it isn't something I could authorize or turn off, it was just automatic. That should be illegal to auto schedule patients especially if you charge a no show fee. I was only given about 24 hours notice of this "appointment." I got a text saying "Reply one to confirm, reply two to cancel". I sent a two, assuming it would cancel. I then received an email today saying my appointment was confirmed. At that point in the call, the receptionist (who wouldn't give me her name) started being extremely rude and hung up on me without confirming that the appointment was cancelled and if I was removed from their system. I tried to call back a few times to get in touch with a different operator or supervisor but since the only route of communication is through her desk, she continuously sent me to voicemail, and her voicemail does not give her name.

DO NOT go here. If Kaiser tries to refer to here, DO NOT accept. Stay far away.

I had to call and leave several messages before someone actually called me back. I had a few appointments with psychologist, I wanted to speak with a psychiatrist so I tried calling numerous times with no answer, left several messages and still have not received a callback. I asked my psychologist for a referral to one of the psychiatrists and told her no one from her office has called me back, she told me to get a referral from my primary doctor. I found another practice that actually answers their phone and now have an appointment with them. When I told her this she got very upset and kept calling and texting me saying that I did not ask for a referral and had not called her office. I had to send her a screenshot of our conversation proving I had asked and give her the dates I called. She said "if I you're quitting I'd like to know what I'm being accused of", like she has been accused of doing something bad before. She was extremely rude and unprofessional.

My daughter has been trying to get an appointment and today Adriana the person that handled the called, not only made my daughter feel like she is doing her a favor, she denies her to speak to her Dr. Oh! but pardon me she says "No he is not your Dr. he is your therapist'! she is not professional, certainly not ethical, and very unkind, she should not be dealing with patients, specially, patients with sensitive concerns. Please have Dr. Lamont call me back this is the 2nd message. The star was so I could post the review.

After many years, I was so happy to find someone that takes my insurance, for about a week until the appointment was supposed to happen. I did all the paperwork they wanted (took like 4 hours, but I did it ASAP), and had hoped to see if the video chat service they offered would work before the session. I was only offered one link for one video chat service. In trying to figure any other service options out, as predicted, that out took up like 20 minutes of the first appointment where I got absolutely no help. A complete waste of time. My insurance covers either camera, headset, or both equipment in a video session, but apparently, the licensed professional can discriminate what equipment they will accept over actually helping anybody. I'm right back where I started. I wish I could say that I hope they do this to the wrong person and get held liable for a suicide, but obviously, I'm not, as I'm posting this as a warning (and I should've read all your rating warnings beforehand, as well).

Worse experience I ever had with office personnel. They do not answer the phone, take over 24 hours to call you back and to top it off cancel appointment without notification. My son needed an urgent appointment, after waiting 2 weeks, I find out 1 hour before his appointment that it was cancelled without notice. The office manager refused to talk to me and the receptionist offered another appointment 1 month out. They also refused to connect me directly with Dr. Steiglitz. Beware of this place...it's clear they do not care about anyone's health.

Patients wait over an 1-2 hours to be seen. The providers have no regard for our time. They don’t always return messages. My provider once took a call to make lunch arrangements during my appt. She will ask me why she maxes changes instead of looking at her notes. This is an office that take mostly Medicaid patients and don’t care about service.

If I could give 0 stars I would Horrible place
They are super rude they do not care for your mental health. When I first called they receptionist was really hostel towards me asking me what did i needed asking me if i really need it. You know long it takes for someone to seek help. You come to these people and they make you feel worst about yourself. Then receptionist did not tell me that I was going to have to enable my camera and microphone settings to be able To talk to the doctor all they did tell me was fill out paperwork and a link sent to me for a tele consultation after I couldnt enable my camera and microphone the receptionist proceeds to be rude and say I have 2 mins to open it or my appointment was canceled she did not try to help me what so ever. If you have a problem with your mental health I highly do NOT recommend this place.

Dr. Girion and the entire team at AVMHP are so nice and lovely. I have never met another group of people so willing to help their patients live a good life. They are very busy all the time, but worth the wait. I've been being treated at various places for 14 years now and AVMHP is the only place I have felt valued and like a person they care about, not a bill. I feel very lucky to be a patient here.
