A few months ago while away from our home in key west I had my first signs of numbness and throbbing in my hands After getting back home and talking with my Dr. Jackson about my problems he made an outstanding recommendation and knew just who and where to send me. First to Neurologist then believe X-rays and back to dr Jackson. He set up the first appointment with Dr. Weber. She wanted to be thorough so I did about 10 physical therapy for Carpal Tunnel. Which helped but was continuing to be more painful. Second appointment with. Dr. Weber ! She kicked my surgery into high gear.. all paperwork, exams, x-rays and releases, and blood test ,and EKG within days done. And left and right hand surgery were scheduled fast and soon
Now after having my left side done today and Longer than expected. I owe the biggest Thank you to give all of the staff and everyone who cared for my surgery I felt like each one was just there for my needs and took my cares very seriously.
Thank you all and Thank you Dr Weber. You’re all wonderful…

Dr Weber and her PA, Wes were very thorough, knowledgeable, efficient and pleasant. I had a fairly typical old age situation (arthritis) so it wasn’t a complicated diagnosis, but they seem to know exactly what was going on and provided me with a brace that seems to be helping. And they took time to explain the situation and prognosis.

Ann Weber;

I understand from the four phone calls that I received from various levels of the Baptist healthcare system that there is some confusion as to why I expected two stars when asked for my feedback on my appointment Dr. Weber. I thought my requested feedback would be private because of HIPPA and I likely would have refused to provide any feedback if I’ve known that my evaluation would become public. When Baptist Health asked for my feedback, I chose to signify the interaction with two stars out of five.

I became aware that I was speaking to non-clinical personnel for the follow-up calls for details about my evaluation. Half of my life involved direct clinical experience, and I hold patents for medical devices as well as a former JACHO survey team member as well as an ASTM task group chairman. .
My appointment wasw based on the fact that I am anticipating complicated hip revision surgery after a 20-year open-wound hip infection. As part of the rehab for this potential upcoming surgery, I will need to use my hands to use adaptive devices such as walkers, crutches, grab bars, and others as part of my rehab rehabilitation and overall possibilities for success of the surgery.

I was first diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome in my right hand back in 2011, but I could not have surgery because I had suffered a hip dislocation surgery malpractice resulting in a hip infection and sepsis. I was unable to have CTS or any other type of surgery while that hip infection was uncontrolled. I had already completed a detailed evaluation for CTS, including the electro-conductive muscle response testing and a very detailed workup by Key West physician and neurologist Dr. Lopez Paz. It was my experience with this first very competent and detailed examination with a second opinion consultation that led me to my conclusion about my one meeting with Dr. Weber, who was pleasant but appeared to lack confidence for conditions that were previously diagnosed but could not be addressed because of orthopedic infection. She failed to mention an obvious Dupuytren's Contracture or Claw Hand, but instead, she wanted to start the clock over again with a brand-new Neurology report. I certainly understand that my previous evaluation is out of date. I thought her exam would’ve revealed her experience with disorders of the hands, which included arthritis and possible RA & CTS.. Before my exam my hands had three medical conditions which I was hoping Dr. Weber could indicate which might have improved with surgery or medication, physical therapy, or other treatments. Those conditions I believed would benefit from the skills of an experienced hand surgeon, but I would need information on which to base a decision for the consideration of potential courses of treatment, including projected rehabilitation and physical therapy treatment periods with a percentage of expected overall improvement as well as associated risks.

Dr. Weber only noted the bone density loss from my x-rays so I reached my evaluation feedback of two stars, noting what I thought was an incomplete history-taking and examination. I had sought Dr. Weber‘s evaluation because the function of my hands deteriorated to a level that interfered with basic living conditions and responsibilities. . None of this information was available from the meeting with Dr. Weber.
Thank you for being so concerned with the feedback of one patient out of many and I hope you appreciate the time and effort my responses have required, which I provide as part of my lifelong clinical career and serving others through healthcare endeavors.
