Very bad experience. I was to be a new patient. I suffer from extreme chronic pain (for 17 years) and the stress this causes in my daily life. We live in Ramrod, 40 minutes away. Driving down with plenty of time to be early, as with every appointment, we ran into unexpected, bad traffic. We called the office before our appointment time, but no one answered so we had to leave a voicemail letting them know we would be a little late. We arrived 16 minutes late. There was no one else waiting in the office, we were the only patients.

They seemed to take delight in letting me know they would not see me. An office manager popped her head in the window and let me know that patients are asked to come in 30 minutes early on their first appointment, however we were not informed of this. And if that is the case, why was the appointment not made 30 minutes earlier?

Travel and appointments are very difficult for me because of my medical condition. My wife took the day off so she could go with me, I spent the last 3 days doing everything I can to reduce the pain I would have on this day and I had checked in online and paid for the appointment before arriving.

I was pleased that my Doctor recommended I talk with someone about the stress I am going through, and this is the only person we could find in the Keys, so I will now not be talking with someone, because there was unexpected traffic.

We have lived in the Keys 25 years and have seen 39 Doctors in hundreds of visits in and out of the Keys over the last 17 years and have never experienced anything like this.

We never complain when our Doctors do not see us for 30, 40 or 60 minutes or more after our appointment time. We treat them with kindness and compassion, perhaps this office should consider treating their patients the same way.

UPDATE: There is no reason for me to call in, I explained it well here. I also notice you do not apologize or offer to make it right. Unacceptable. I have discussed this with my Doctors and all were shocked at this experience. They all agreed while this treatment might be necessary for a chronically late (and well warned) or disrespectful patient, but to do this on a first visit like this, especially after I called in before my appointment time, was cruel and bad business.

For my first time appointment, Angela made sure I was comfortable. She also went into detail about everything and really seemed liked she cared. I felt heard. She even went above and beyond when finding a therapist for me to see as well!

Angela is very good at what she does and is very pleasant to work with! She’s very kind and very sweet. However, there is a girl that works at the front desk by the name of Jamie that is just horrible at her job! I have spoken to the previous Therapist that Angela replaced and she said I wasn’t the 1st to complain. I hate to leave a good Therapist because of a nasty receptionist with a bad attitude.

Such an amazing visit. Very thorough and let me ramble all my gripes and complaints making us run late and still took the time to finish up and cared! (OR at least was able to fake it very well!
