08.05.25 12:30pm Dr. Carlos San Mateo is our daughter's young colorectal surgeon. He is such a gentleman, he is very warm, friendly, kind, sweet, and helpful. He so patiently listened to her, asked her many questions, was very thoughtful and considerate all while never rushing and being very gentle during the anoscope. Sitting in on the exam was OBGYN Dr. Betty, who was also very sweet.

Front desk management/receptionist Tiffany was just lovely, she is like a friend you always look forward to seeing though it was the first meeting!

Dr. San Mateo explained anal skin tag removal and how to control hemorrhoids to better care for these necessary and functional body parts well so they aren't inflamed in order to remove the anal skin tag. Will be looking forward to the procedure. Our daughter had already had 4x internal hemorrhoids banded last year by her gastroenterologist, and those apparently looked in great shape still (she prevented straining after their removal, used the potty stool, drank tons of water, lots of natural fiber from produce), as they can recur. Dr. San Mateo definitely recommends using a bidet to reduce chaffing.

The building location is across from O'Connor Hospital in a beautiful stand alone building. Office was very clean and room was beautifully decorated to feel comfortable and inviting for patients.

Dr. San Mateo gave a detailed explanation of my medical condition. He and his assistant, through questioning, gained a full understanding of my history including surgeries, prescription drugs, diet and lifestyle. After the physical examination, he outlined the different options available including a newer FDA approved procedure that he was going to be performing on patients in August. The procedure is non-invasive, and does not involve cutting or removing tissues. There is much less pain associated with it and is better for patients such as I who am on blood thinners and do not wish to have to take opioids for pain relief. I spent almost an hour in his office in discussions with him, and his assistant. They were very thorough; I fully understood my options and I think they understood my desires. I highly recommend Dr. San Mateo if you happen to suffer from conditions he will treat.
