Alyssa is an incredible midwife! She provided care for me through two pregnancies, births, and postpartum. She has the synergy of a kind listening ear and the medical expertise you would want at your birth. She is a wealth of knowledge and frankly a wonderful human. I can't say enough good things about Alivia! I took a virtual birth class with Alyssa, and it was absolutely phenomenal. The class covered everything—physical techniques, partner support, as well as mental and emotional preparation—and it made a world of difference during my birth experience. Alyssa’s knowledge about natural birth and her focus on empowering women left me wishing I could have worked with her for my second pregnancy, but I live in California, not Alaska. Even then, Alyssa went above and beyond by connecting me to a birth center in my area. She’s personable, professional, caring, and truly brilliant when it comes to all things birth. Her network is impressive, and her calming presence makes you feel supported every step of the way.

Very unprofessional business. I don't think the person who runs this business knows if they want to be a midwife. They constantly flip flop between saying they are available and then claiming they cant be a midwife because "there isn't enough infrastructure in this town for a midwife". Alivia uses very fluffy words to shame the town of Kodiak to make themselves feel better for not being able to make their mind up. Alivia has left my family in a very tough situation because, frankly, they are a flaky business who I will never trust to deliver my child even if they decide to attempt to be responsible and consistent in the future. Even if you schedule something with them you cannot be certain that they will be available. 1 star.
