Dr Alva is simply the best at his profession, his knowledge of symptoms and medications are second to none. He is kind and supportive, and I always feel positive and better overall after having an appointment with him.
He's caring, kind and listens to anything I want to talk about with him regarding myself as a whole person.

He understands not just about medications, but also about what is going on in my life and offers helpful advice.
An appointment with him isn't just about talking about meds, it's a mini therapy session that always leaves me feeling better and hopeful.
Plus the plentiful chocolate treats that are always available in his office are definitely a plus!

His assistant Norma is always nice, thorough and available-which is such a blessing.
She always returns my calls and makes sure my medications are sent to my pharmacy if there's any questions or concerns I have.

I’m truly thankful to have Dr Alva and his staff taking care of my mental health, it's been very difficult for me after having a major traumatic event almost 30 years ago when I was young and also mental health issues run in my family so it's been challenging to say the least.

I've updated this review as of 10/8/23,
I saw Dr Alva a couple of months ago and I'm due to see him in a few weeks. I have been on many medications but one is just not working anymore so I researched new medications and found that Dr Gus Alva(his brother whom I've met) does clinical research and trials and administers a newly approved drug.

I'm going to check if I'm a candidate for it. It has amazing reviews and highly effective treatment results. It's different because it has to be administered in the office for a course of treatments. Hopefully I'll be a candidate for it..after all these years & different medications, it's worth seeing if I can benefit from it.

I've personally had nothing but great experiences with Dr Alva and Dr Gus Alva.

Dr. Alva is the contracted psychiatrist for the Rehab I just left. He will not be my Dr. going forward. I presented him with a dilemma in mediation that I thought would be hard to deal with. This Dr. came up with a solution that covered all the bases and then some. He is highly regarded by all who know of him. He is also very personable and actually cares very much about his patients. Worth the wait for your first appointment

Dr. Alva has been my psychiatrist for a few years. He remembers what my life's about, asks pertinent questions; listens to me and gives me sage wisdom. When I started, he changed my meds until I found what worked. Dr. Alejandro Alva is helping me through this difficult time but also a major surgery..i feel more secure.

Words can’t express the gratitude and admiration I feel for Doctor Alva. He has been an Angel sent from god. Just when I’ve felt like giving up, he has been there to show me there’s always a way.
