As a caregiver multiple times in my life and a patient, I have NEVER been to any physician's office where the staff showed a deeper dedication to their patients. Carrie Cole and her staff go above and beyond for her patients. I have personally witnessed these people working through their lunches, calling patients PERSONALLY to help them with their needs and a level of patience and care for the elderly which is unsurpassed. I am in awe of the dedication Carrie and her staff has to their patients.

I arrived today for a new patient appointment exactly 6 minutes late. The receptionist was very rude to me for being late and told me the dr wouldn’t see me. I explained that I was only a few minutes late and she be been trying to see someone for months. The receptionist snapped back at me and said “well what’s wrong with you? We can only see you today if you are on medication of something is wrong?” Dr. kulback saw me anyway. I have NEVER had the displeasure of dealing with such an awful person.

Based on everyone else’s experience with that “receptionist” in the office, she should have been let go years ago. I likely will not be returning to this office.

I'd avoid this place if you're LGBTQ. Think they saw my husband's name on my insurance card and made up some policy excuse not to see me, even though I have a PPO plan.
Don't think I didn't see you pointing at the out-of-pocket cost list as you were telling me about this "policy."

I recently accompanied my grandmother to her appointment and am so impressed by the office staff and providers! Everyone was so kind. Carrie Cole PA was very personable and spent time making sure my grandmother felt heard, she also addressed all of her symptoms and concerns. After the appointment, I have had no issues getting in contact with the office and have received timely responses each time. I am so thankful to have trustworthy providers caring for my grandmother!

On April 21 my husband had an appointment at Alabama Internal Medicine. Once we arrived we were “greeted” by the receptionist with a very combative attitude, where it seemed as if we were bothering her just by being there. The doctor was out sick, and our appointment had to be rescheduled. This is understandable, doctors get sick too, however we were never contacted to re-schedule the appointment and were shocked at the attitude towards us. I am sure interactions with other members of the office would have been much more pleasant, but from our experience Alabama Internal Medicine has incredibly unfriendly and unhelpful staff, which I hope to never encounter again.

I will no longer be going to AIM after 4 years of going here. Yesterday the front office personnel was rude about a charge I owed and when I asked a simple question I was hit with “all I know is if you don’t pay this you will not be seen today”. I was in the office for a sick visit. Before I left the medical assistant said she would call in my antibiotics because I have a sinus infection. The next day I call my pharmacist and they had not received a prescription. I called AIM 3 times for them to tell me they would let the doctor know. When my prescription wasn’t called in by 3pm I went up to AIM to ask for a paper prescription to take to my pharmacy. The front office person was rude again saying that they could not do that and the doctor was not in the office. So I’m going another night without antibiotics for a sinus infection.

I have been a patient of Dr. Kulback, as my PCP, for the past 5 years. I have felt very comfortable with the doc. He is friendly, attentive to my concerns, and very professional. I recommend him to all my acquaintances. His staff is pleasant and a welcoming break from a crazy day. I always feel like family there.

Dr. Kulback has been my doctor for over 10 years. He is very professional and knowledgeable and takes time to explain things to his patients. His office staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I cannot imagine a better physician experience in Birmingham.
