I have been coming to this office for 9 years now. My heart was so sad when Dr Hernandez had to leave for family I now see Michelle Sedora. But my reason for this review today is because of the new front desk lady Miss Karina!! She is one of THE most pleasant happy person you will come across in a doctors office… heck anywhere!! She is welcoming and calming yet whitty all in one! She is the best hire ever!!!! I’d give 10 stars if this would allow it!

I accompanied my wife for her first appointment with Dr. Vilchez. What a caring and compassionate man. He was thorough, did not rush, spent plenty of time explaining his diagnosis of her test results and his recommendations and why. We both came away from her appointment thoroughly impressed. His staff was also very polite and showed her a lot of kindness during her appointment. Everyone had a smile to offer and Dr. Vilchez made us feel comfortable. He is a happy man and has a calming nature with his patient, easing their concerns and tensness.

My last appt w APRN Sidor was so productive as usual. She makes me feel cared for, important and comfortable. Ms Karina Santiago is an asset to the office. She is very professional, knowledgeable and really cares for the patients. Things have changed fo the better since my last visit. Well done!!!

I met Dr. Vilchez yesterday morning, and am truly impressed! He is very kind, empathetic, and genuine. He gave me his undivided attention and did not rush. He was easy to talk to, and has a delightful sense of humor. He loves his work. I was fearful coming into this appointment because my bloodwork indicated abnormal results. Meeting with him gave me peace of mind, and that he (we) could fix what was wrong (by following his recommendations). In addition to prescribing medication, he is interested in promoting good health naturally through food and supplements. Since my cholesterol is high, Dr. Vilchez gave me a recipe for “Green Juice for High Cholesterol” which is something he drinks (as well as his office staff).
I wasn’t sure about having a male doctor (my female doctor retired), but after meeting him, I have every confidence in him, and feel very fortunate about that. My husband joined me for this appointment and we both went away feeling almost euphoric! Thank you, Dr. Vilchez!

I have to give a shout out to Dr Vilchez. He saved me from my terrible cholesterol. He takes as much time as you need to discuss your health and answer all your questions. And another shout out to Kristen. She's super friendly, helpful, funny, efficient. If you need a PCP the Hwy 19A location is the place to go. You won't be sorry.

Second follow up - The new offcice manager (Jesse sp?) is very difficult to contact (he told me a couple of months ago to contact him if needed). I complained about an unsolicited text message for an imaging service we did not approve, and he sees no problem with them contacting us. I told him it is a privacy invasion concern and he laughed. I believe they are getting paid by the company that solicited us, but I could be wrong. It seems to be at best bad patient treatment, and at worst, a HIPPA violaton to conact an external company to reach out to us for business when we did not approve the contact.

I was intentionally hung up on twice by their rude staff (although some are competent and helpful, many are incompetent and rude).

Follow up - a new office manager called to try and understand the basis for this review. He seems to understand there is a problem to fix (time will tell). At least there is hope for correcting problems they denied existed in the past. I changed the rating from one star to 3.

Terrible service. Disorganized, no communication, worst office management I have ever experienced with any doctors office in my life. The doctors are fine, it's the office mgmt that needs to be replaced.

Dr. Hernandez is a great doctor. She listened to my concerns and found out exactly what was going on with me after suffering nearly 5 years w/ no resolve from my previous Doctor. My previous Dr wrote incorrect info in my chart, now I do not have to worry about that. Dr. Hernandez has also returned my calls after-hours when I had issues. The office staff has also been very understanding and patient with me when I've visited in tears.

I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Hernandez or Dr. Bisht at the Mt. Dora office. However, my experience with staff at both locations has been extremely frustrating. Two weeks since an appointment with Dr. Hernandez and still waiting for a simple referral (required by insurance) for yearly eye exam to be processed. When I called it was confirmed that they had the request but were “waiting for someone to process it”. I’m waiting on other referrals for routine screenings as well. It feels like the right hand doesn’t know what the left is doing. They’ve wasted a lot of my time and still no results. As for the 441 location, good luck to you if you can even get anyone from their call center to respond. After listening to music for more than 20 minutes for the third time, I gave up and switched to the other location where they at least pick up the phone. The doctors are fine, but the support staff and/or their processes need a serious overhaul.
