I had high hopes for this dermatology visit after being welcomed by a kind and professional receptionist. Unfortunately, my actual experience with Dr. Stephen McAskill was disappointing and frustrating.

When I was finally led to the back room, I expected to have a thorough discussion about my long-standing skin concerns—something that has deeply affected my confidence for years. Instead, the doctor rushed in, stood against the wall as if he didn’t even want to come near me, quickly measured my forehead, and rapidly asked a few questions. The entire interaction felt impersonal and rushed, leaving me overwhelmed.

Before I could fully express my concerns, he hastily handed me a prescription and told me to either return in a few months if it didn’t work or just keep refilling it. I had only three questions, but the rushed experience barely left time for two. Then, to top it off, I was charged $220 for what was essentially a five-minute consultation.

This clinic should be embarrassed by the lack of care they provide. I scheduled this appointment weeks in advance, took the time and effort to get there, and was treated as if I was just another number to push through the door. Now I have to start over and find another dermatologist, hoping I won’t experience the same disregard. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, especially Dr. McAskill, who clearly doesn’t value patient care or first impressions.

Hope you don’t have any kind of prescription even a simple cream requires an office visit every six months. I had this same script with another provider for ten years never had to go in. Who has time to go to every specialist every 6 months. You whole life will be doctors appointments

Trying to schedule the appointment with customer service was so painful and long. And she was so rude. I ended up telling her I’ll just go somewhere else.

Staff was great. Office clean. Dr Bethea was not attentive nor did he seem to care.
I was absolutely mortified by how I was manhandled while standing nearly naked in the middle of the exam room floor getting what they call a 'full skin check'.
No exam bed. Just a chair.
The Dr made me feel like I was an inconvenience. While checking me for cancer (I have a history of squamous cell sarcoma) hauled at my underwear, again while standing in the middle of the floor, and half heartedly 'examined' my skin.
No time spent discussing my history or what I may want to do about the condition of my skin. No treatment plan or rapport building at all.
I will not be returning after how the Dr treated me. I've had proper skin exams for decades. This place is not giving the quality exams that must be done for high risk patients.
I just moved to the area and I will look elsewhere for better care. People deserve better care than what I was provided by the Dr here at this office.
The 3 stars are for the staff.

I saw the Doctor in the NSB office. I had my yearly cancer check up. I had a few spots taken off and sent for a biopsy last week. It was so quick and painless. I'm not sure why I was dreading it so much. Amy and the staff were wonderful.

Although Robert was the patient and Jean the significant other the service was outstanding. Procedure was explained and performed expertly and was in and out in less than one half hour. Very pleasant staff. Would highly recommend
