I am a licensed private Home Care Aide. One of my client's health has declined over the last month and his doctor ordered ACE Home Health Care to evaluate and treat him at home. I have worked with many Home Health/Hospice agencies over the last 18+ years and this is the worst I have ever encountered. I have called their office numerous times in the last 4 days to discuss care and have never received a call-back. They claim to have a nurse on-call 24/7. I called at 5:30p yesterday requesting advice from a nurse. I was advised the office was closed and would have to call back the next day. When I told the answering service that they were supposed to have a nurse on-call 24/7, she took my name and number and said someone would call me back right away. No one ever called back. This is unacceptable. DO NOT use this agency. Our loved ones deserve better.

UPDATE: 3 days later, 3 calls, voice-mails and a text and still no return call. UNACCEPTABLE!!!
I recommended another home health agency to my client and they are changing.

A close friend living with me received care from Ace Home Health. She had waited over 2 weeks for a call back from another agency that her doctor had recommended. When she reached out to Ace within a few hours her insurance was verified and an appointment was made with a therapist who came out to evaluate her within 24 hours.
All of the staff were respectful, timely and compassionate. We would highly recommend this agency to friends and family.

We have used Ace in the past with Kaiser, now with Contra Costa Health plan. They owe speech therapy and CNA visits to Danny, but have failed to send anyone out. (Occ Health therapist Audra is amazing. Physical Therapist, Len was good too, but was on vacation then left the company. Not many visits.) The rest of the Ace Home Health staff is dishonest. The “nurses” are garbage, brand new inexperienced. They showed up to pretended to do vital signs. What fraud, waste and abuse of the system. There was no need for them to come in the first place. I suspect Ace Home Health charging for visits that never happened. Will call public health nurse Maureen and verify, if guilty I will report their fraud. Danny deserves good care, they need to provide it!

I would recommend this company to anyone! They have a great team that works with you especially in the end-of-life care of your loved ones. I have experience with different Hospice Company for more than a decade but so far Ace Hospice is what I prefer for our care home because of their Case Manager- Ninia Villanueva. She is very compassionate, dependable, dedicated and knowledgeable. She deeply cares for each of her patients and treats them like her family. Regardless of what time of the day or even days of the week, if our resident needs to be attended by a nurse she is always available to check the patient and never leaves not until the patient is comfortable and okay. That is what you call dedication to helping people! Being in hospice care is not something that happens often to everyone that is why most of the family are puzzled and do not know what to expect on what is gonna happen to their loved ones. It is an overwhelming situation for them but Ninia always find time to talk and explain to the family any concerns and issues regarding their loved one's condition and what to expect, for this reason, it gives the family peace of mind and comfort knowing that their loved ones with life-limiting illness are well taken care of with respect and dignity.

Lastly, I am thankful to the whole care team who takes care of our clients, from Mario who is the Home Health Aid who does excellent job in personal grooming, LVN’s name Eme and Noe who provides medical comfort and care, Pastor George who provides emotional and spiritual support and Alexia the social worker who was able to send volunteers to sing for one of our client.

Our loved one was diagnosed with terminal cancer less than a month ago. It was her wish to die at home. On the morning of April 28, 2021, her doctors said it was urgent she enter hospice immediately in order to get home in time. Because Kaiser didn’t have openings in their own Hospice, they provided a list of vetted trusted agencies and recommended Ace Hospice in Orinda. By 7pm that evening, she arrived home with a hospital bed, oxygen and palliative meds. Her case manager Kimberly carefully explained which meds to give when. She provided very precise explanations of symptoms and how much of each med to offer. The booklet listed each med in descending order of importance along with explanations of symptoms and dosages. There was a page to record each dosage given. Because of the extraordinary efforts of Oakland Kaiser, the transport team who had to figure how to safely transport her up steep stairs, Kimberly and Ace Hospice, our loved one was able to die at home surrounded by family and without unnecessary suffering.

Ace.... when my father was diagnosed with cancer he came home from the hospital and Ace home health/ hospice staff gave excellent home health care services. unfortunately my father’ Health declined he transitioned to the hospice assistance and care with Ace. My father passed last year thanks to compassionate, caring, professional, Atentative, knowledgeable staff my father passed with dignity and comfort and knowing that he was loved. I don’t know how I would’ve gotten through this by myself I am truly thankful for Ace staff the follow up has been amazing making sure I’m OK , offering grief support . There’s not enough thanks to be given I would highly recommend Ace Home Health I personally have thought about if I ever or when I would need this type of care and I would definitely choose Ace Home Health/ Hospice staff to care for me.
