Amazing customer service! I was desperate for a replacement CPAP mask and hose after my puppy chewed mine up this afternoon. I called Gerard at 3:45pm and even though he was closing at 4pm, he stayed late until I could get there a half-hour later. He even fitted me with a better sized mask when he saw my old one was too small. Can’t believe this little local gem of a store still exists and serves our community with such dedication and care.

Because of COVID, the store has reduced hours and is particular about maintaining social distancing and not touching the supplies until after purchase...which is totally reasonable and I was happy to comply. Please support our local businesses and give Gerard and Able Supply your patronage. He really is a gem.

The person working was very helpful and patient as I was trying to figure out some replacement supplies for my mom. Prices weren't unreasonable or overpriced as another person said compared to what I had looked for online. It's brick and mortar and a small business so maybe not the cheapest, but it was really helpful for me to talk with someone and get what I needed.

I've been here a number of times, so this is not based on a one - off experience. First off, they're open just a few hours a day (and sometimes not at all). Secondly, they're really really overpriced. Thirdly... and this is the main issue... there is something really the matter with the person who works/owns this place. I recently had experience that amounts to one of the worst and upsetting retail experiences I've ever had. This man has no communication skills, and belittled me to another customer, stating that I was "impatient" when I was just literally just standing and waiting. Then telling the other customer I was "rude" when I didn't understand an odd request to stand outside. The interaction was surreal. I went to a medical supply on Geary and purchased the same item for less, and with no drama. It's not worth it giving your money to this person with a chip missing. He should not be in retail.

I was able to walk in and consult a real person : Gerald, of Able Medical, about purchasing a pair of much needed compression socks. He whipped out a ribbon tape to measure my calves to ensure the proper size sock was recommended, and was very kind and professional in regrettably informing me that I would be needing the largest size on offer : a “Queen.” Love it, gotta say! LOL. I didn’t even buy the socks that day, but later called him from my doctor’s office with more questions: which he answered! Try that shopping online! I later came in and purchased my compression socks, satisfied that I had all the info and was getting the right ones- and they’ve been working btw! As I left I cracked, “I’m a Queen now.” And we had a chuckle.

Thanks Gerald! Oh: and he was even nice to my service dog that I brought with me on my first visit, taking measurements practically through his paws. Major points for that lol.

I went looking for a mask for my old asthma machine. The person was very rude and unprofessional. Did not want to help me. When he finally did he brought the wrong item and after handding me seal bag he told me that i coudnt even touch it (even tho he touched the seal bag without gloves) that he could not help me. Worst costumer service. They deserve to shut their door
. Why have them opened if you treat your customers like this?
The worst is that the owner ,the same person that talked to me while i was there, just left himself a 5 star review as SuperG Chan. That is the owner you can look up on his website. Horrible person not close to knowledgeable and horrible service!!!!

Able Medical Supplies came through for us in a big way! We were in desperate need of some wound care supplies as home health could not come until the next day. I called Able Medical Supplies, and Gerald was able to figure out exactly what I needed and put everything aside for us to pick up that same day. We appreciated Gerald’s kind demeanor during our frantic search. And we were so grateful that he had what we needed in stock! The next time we have medical supply needs, we know who to call!

Manager was super rude on the phone for an honest inquiry. I was looking for a place to donate some medical equipment (lightly used crutches, etc) and this was the first location that showed up on google. I gave them a call and was met with really rude short responses and he was overall really impatient with me. Their website mentions to give them a call but really their customer service was subpar.

Found out my Kaiser plan doesn't cover DME which was needed for my discharge so I called Able. Despite being closed for vacation (and despite it being a Sunday when all medical supply stores are closed), Gerald took the time to get everything set up for me and met my friends at the store to handoff my supplies.

After a week in the hospital, I'm back at home 🙂
