I’ve gone here for years. After Dr Holland retired I kept going and liked the energy and attitude of the NP that took over my care. My first warning sign was when I spent nearly two hours waiting to have my blood drawn by staff who seemed very aggravated when I politely asked when I’d be heading back.

Following that, over the course of two months I have done two in-person visits, left two voicemails, and waited on hold for 25 minutes trying to get a referral the NP said she would have called in and still nothing. Even after mentioning that it still has not happened after over a month their reply was “we’ll call it in, wait two weeks before contacting us if you don’t hear from them”.

I am done.

I feel as though I currently have no primary care provider at all and would not recommend them to anyone with their current staff.

Honestly if I could give this clinic 0 stars I would. I had the worst experience at this office today. First there was absolutely no parking available in order to get to the office. Second, once I got there I was ignored for 10 minutes and then finally taken to the back where everyone just seemed to not really know what they were doing. Then, I visit with the Dr. in order to refill a prescription needed for school and I am told that because I haven't been in school and taking the medication for said amount of years I wasted money on the visit and there was nothing she could do for me but refer me to a psychologist where I will be asked to spend more money all to get a prescription recommended. I’m sorry but I feel like that information should have been given to me when I had originally called the front office to schedule my appointment and tell them of why I was coming in for an appointment. Whether it is the “new rules” or not I feel very disappointed in this clinic and I would not recommend to anyone looking for a family doctor around the Hillcrest area.

Samantha Watts is the best nurse practitioner in this part of the woods. She’s better than any doctor I have seen in Little Rock. She’s kind and patient and doesn’t rush through your time with her. She’s good at what she does and I think she’s the best!

Note that there are no positive reviews since Dr. Holland sold the practice a few months ago. Now you get yelled at, hung up on, falsified information added to your record with refusal to correct it, multiple referrals sent for the wrong (non-existent) issues, sarcasm from the office manager, refusal to provide medical records, and cussed at if you even mention Jay Holland . This practice was my safe place for 35 years. The way it is being run today, I wouldn’t recommend even my worst enemies to this clinic. Stay far away. The outstanding reputation that this clinic maintained for decades is unfortunately no longer applicable. If you walk into the practice today you’d never know that you’re in a reputable community like Hillcrest. I’ve never experienced such rude, abrupt, unprofessional, obnoxious attitudes at any place where I’ve done business now that I think about it, but especially not from a doctor’s office whose entire purpose of existence is to care for patients, not belittle them, cuss at them, hang up on them, blatantly lie to them, and the list goes on. I’m just one person, but trust me, there will be many more that will eventually land here as well as many of us have spoken to each other and recognize that since the change in ownership, there are consistently unacceptable operations by this business as well as it’s lack of values relating to human healthcare which, I THOUGHT, was the purpose of the existence of offices like this to begin with. Very sad to transition to this experience after having such amazing support staff and providers for so many years.

I have seen Dr. Carttar consistently for the past 6 or 7 years and have always been impressed by the level of care I receive. Not only does he have an excellent bedside manner but his diagnostic skills are outstanding. Dr. Carttar always takes time to make sure he understands as much about my condition as possible before moving forward with treatment. He has treated me with respect and dignity and I would recommend him to absolutely anyone. I trust him with my life which is exactly what you want in a doctor.

Dr. Holland is an awesome doctor and has never steered us wrong. My wife and I both see him and I can’t thank him enough for all he’s done!!! Seems like, he just see’s it as another day at the office but he doesn’t take short cuts. He wants to know exactly what’s going on, when it’s going on and why. In other words he’s very thorough with his diagnosis. I’ve been a patient since 2002 and would never consider a different doctor. The staff and nurses had to have been trained and taught by the best of the best. You’ll never be able to find a better team.

Dr. Carttar is very professional and very caring. He’s very nice , soft spoken and very polite. I felt that he was very genuine and care about me and he knows exactly what he’s doing.
The whole staffs are also very nice, they recommend me where to get the med from the prescription, and how to compare the price as well.
Definitely recommend this place to everyone , especially the ones that are scared of the doctors like myself.
