I wish zero stars was an option. Or even negative. Both the Baldwin and Hempstead facilities are an atrocity. There is no communication amongst any of the employees and the front desk people at both clinics are incredibly rude. The psychiatrist in Hempstead said he was not going to help me and that my appointment with him was useless. His only recommendation to me was to stop all of my medications cold turkey, which is something a person struggling with mental health issues should not be told to do. At the Baldwin office, I had to speak to three people to cancel an appointment, only for no one to have actually given the message to the counselor. Additionally, there are constant billing issues and the financial department refuses to do any work, it all falls on the patient. For these people to claim to be “mental health professionals” they have a long way to go.

the abject worst treatment and find you’ll ever get from people being paid to help. don’t expect a secretary to work with you; they prefer to have you do all of the work, and act like everything is your fault, even the smallest thing!

been there multiple years too because they’re only good for filling scripts. I’m pretty sure the therapists, the good ones, live in seclusion there and quickly move on. Find another place because this is occupied by the least professional people with the worst attitudes. And I’ve given them far too many chances

I was a patient at the invasive out patient program and id give them 4/5 stars for that, but this rating is for the physiatrist side. The staff there are really hard to get a hold of (then rude when you finally do) twice now in the last 6 months it's been very difficult to get a regular refill. They are probably under staffed but that shouldn't get in the way of patients getting their needed medication!
Also just read other reviews and it's very telling to see the owner only responding to positive reviews.

If I could give zero stars I would. The office never answers the phone. If they do they transfer you to someone else who doesn't answer the phone, check voice-mail, or call you back. You can spends weeks months trying to schedule an appointment ND they will never get back to you until it is too late and then they say since you haven't been seen in such time you are no longer a patient. But when I was trying to call leave voice-mail and find someone to contact there is nothing. The costumer service is horrible.

Was supposed to go for a general intake appointment, but they cancel two hours before my appointment that day, citing that the person who was scheduled to do my intake had called in sick. I completely understand that people get sick, but to not have a single other person in the entire program who was capable of handling one more intake was surprising to me, and baffling to other mental health care and social work professionals I have since shared the story with.

The rescheduled intake appointment went smoothly; the person, Thomas, was very friendly and compassionate, walked me through the process and answered any questions I had about the forms I was filling out. I mentioned to him that I already had a good therapist and was just seeking a psychiatrist to get back on medication. He acknowledged it and it didn't seem to be a problem; he finished the intake, and I was given an appointment to see a psychiatrist at the start of the next week.

In between then (today, actually) I get a call from the director, Kristen (sp?) who tells me that they do not "split treatment" and that new patients MUST also be seeing a therapist there in order to receive psychiatric care. A horrible policy in my opinion, but I assume it has its roots in being more profitable for them that way, since that's pretty much the only goal of healthcare in the United States in this day and age. I tell her I'm not interested in dropping my therapist, and we end the conversation with me under the assumption that I won't be seen. And in her defense, she did give me contact information for another facility that may be able to help me.

Quite literally ten minutes later, I get another call from this building, asking me to confirm my (old) appointment with the psychiatrist I was supposed to see the following week. Confused, I call the psychiatrist and leave a message asking for some clarity. She returns my call promptly, leaving a voice mail saying that what the director had told me was true. So apparently they had attempted to confirm an appointment that I no longer had.

TL;DR: Do not go here if you can possibly avoid it. It seems like there is little to no communication between departments, and it definitely feels like the higher-ups do not take mental health issues seriously at all.

Unhelpful and Unresponsive Service

I'm sorry to say that my experience with this mental health clinic was largely negative. I found them to be consistently unresponsive, often failing to answer calls promptly, and when they did return my call, it was typically a day late.

Furthermore, the clinic's treatment policy seems discriminatory, as they appeared reluctant to provide services if you don't reside in a nearby town. This is a significant inconvenience for those living farther away and seeking their mental health services.

Adding to the frustration was their refusal to provide reasonable referrals for those who live a bit far from their facility. This came off as quite unhelpful, especially given the circumstances.

Overall, their lack of responsiveness, parochial approach to treatment, and unwillingness to assist with appropriate referrals left a lot to be desired. I believe that a mental health clinic should prioritize patient care and support above all else, and unfortunately, this clinic didn't meet those expectations.

I had multiple horrible experiences with the Emergency room. BUT....i do have to say my most recent experience with my mother was amazing. the staff that cared for her was attentive and empathetic. but the shining light of the entire experience was my mothers doctor, Dr. Redhead. She was knowledgeable, patient, kind, and went so above and beyond. as a family member it was comforting to know my mother was in such good hands. i don't think i'll ever be able to thank her enough

Probably one of the worst places that I've ever been to ... I come here with a friend of mine. I am his power of attorney we walked into one of his meetings. Nobody questioned me as to who I was, or even for permission for myself to be there. ( HIPA ) The doctor spent a stupid amount. Of time explaining how he missed his appointment, which was rescheduled from when she cancelled the week prior ..... had to correct that to can we move on she had increased levels on a drug , I had inquired as to whether or not his levels were at therapy level was a blood test performed. Instead of answering the question she asked the patient did you have your blood checked? She proceeded to give us a prescription crossing out the address of the place, which obviously made the prescription void. So after trying to get the test done, I had to come back to have another prescription rewritten Needless to say it's been three weeks and I still haven't gotten the results back from the blood-work but the patient is still on the meds i.... Smh I really feel bad for people that need help with mental illness .... This place can make you go crazy ...
