Needed to get my hand checked, and did not want to travel an hour to see my PCP, and my PCP would not be able to do an X-ray in the office or put a cast or splint on my thumb.

Made the executive decision to try an urgent care instead of a local emergency room. Emergency room’s on a Friday in NYC., can be a gamble.

Summit Health and CityMD are now part of VillageMD.  VillageMD provides high quality, accessible healthcare services for individuals and communities across the United States, with primary, multispecialty, and urgent care providers serving patients in traditional clinic settings, and in patients’ homes which is a service I love, reminds me of concierge medicine, and through virtual appointments.

You can easily find this location on West 14th street, 2 blocks away from Union Square.

Upon arrival you’re greeted by a very pleasant receptionist that will ask if you have an appointment or, are a walk in.

I was a walk in, therefore I scanned the QR code at check in, which gives you electronic consent forms to fill out.

The waiting area is very clean, no crowds, and esthetically pleasing to the eyes. The atmosphere and service gives you a comfortable, and relaxed feeling, especially with the beautiful art.

After electronically filling out the forms, I was given an immediate appointment.

My wait was barely five minutes. Went to the back, had my vitals taken. Doctor came in, within another 5 minutes.

Had the pleasure of seeing an amazing Doctor, whom was a kind person with compassion , with excellent bedside manners.

After examining my hand, wrist, and elbow, the Doctor felt it was a terrible sprain. My hand was put in brace, and I was given instructions on how to care for the sprain. My entire visit was probably under 40 minutes. Could not ask for a better medical experience. Definitely recommend City MD West 14th street location.

If you need x-rays, call ahead to confirm which location has the mobile x-ray technician. To ensure you are not left inconvenienced.

Amazing experience, I HATE doctors offices especially here in New York City. This place had a great staff that were extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. The doctor we had was very polite and listened. (Anthony) might of been his name. He knew exactly what was wrong with me gave me what I needed and everything within 30mins. Bathroom was very very clean and everything was well organized. It’s worth the travel definitely better than other urgent cares. Insurance ladies extremely experience and knowledgeable, and was able to figure out a couple of Insurance hiccups on my end. Thank you!

If you HAVE Insurance - DO NOT GO HERE.
If you DO NOT HAVE Insurance - you should go here, they discount the visits for the uninsured.

I have insurance and recently went to CityMD for a flu test.
After many many hours trying to determine pricing to understand my bill...I was told verbatim by their customer service agent "Uninsured visits cost $225. If you have insurance your visit costs $300". Well, my co-pay is only $50 so I am paying $250 - I am paying more with insurance, because due to their policies - those who are insured should pay more.

Try asking the front desk staff how much your appointment will be if you want a 'flu test' or 'covid test'. They'll tell you - "if you do not have insurance it costs $225. If you have insurance - then it depends... it depends.. it depends.. we actually cannot provide that information" They will not provide a price on the visit upfront if you have insurance. If you go to CityMD with insurance - you will have no idea how much your appointment costs and they cannot tell you upfront. If you go to CityMD without insurance - you will know how much your visit it.

As mentioned- it took me many hours to get ahold of their corporate customer service agents who explained that insured individuals are charged more per visit than uninsured.

Advertised services on their own website not available. They refer you to another location. Bait and switch. I didn’t have time and now my injury will be untreated having booked on the basis they provided the service they claim is at the location

I have had very good care at this facility. I did need to go to ER recently due to a very low sodium count. Also as it is impossible to see my PCP, with a 3 month waiting list, The doctor and nurses here were very helpful with the correct diagnosis. Thank you.

I’ve had generally positive experiences at this CityMD 14th street location. During my most recent visit, both the nurse and the doctor were incredibly helpful and attentive, which I deeply appreciated. Their professionalism and care made a stressful situation much easier to manage.

That said, I’ve had a few less-than-ideal visits in the past. For instance, there was a time when I came in with a 101-degree fever and ended up waiting in the exam room for 45 minutes while overhearing the doctor joking around in the room next door. Moments like that were frustrating and felt unproductive.

However, these experiences are rare, and the majority of my visits have been great. The occasional negative interaction hasn’t shaken my trust in this CityMD location, and I’ll continue to come here for their reliable service. Overall, I would recommend this location for its generally high standard of care.

Really disappointed by my experience here. I booked an appointment online for a routine urine sample, and arrived for my 9am appointment at 8:50am. First, I entered the lobby and was immediately yelled at by the receptionist to get outside because they weren't opening for 2 more minutes (it was 8:58am at this point), despite the fact that it was 15F outside this morning. Rude and thoughtless. Next, I checked in and waited for 30 minutes, while 3 other patients were called before me, despite that I had an appointment and was the first person through the door. Finally the receptionist informed me they were having trouble with their system and couldn't complete my sample, but they called the East 14th location and I could go there right away for my test. So I made the ten minute walk to East 14th, and then was made to wait another 30 minutes, because "it's a different location and there are other people in front of me" despite the fact that I had an appointment at 9am and had been holding a full bladder for over an hour at this point. Rude, thoughtless receptionists, slow service, not a single care or concern for my time, my restroom needs, or anything else, despite having scheduled this all in advance.

Went on a Sunday at noon. No wait time. The service I got was excellent. The Dr was so kind empathetic to all my questions and there were many. She understood I was in pain and took so much time to listen and help me get better. I can't suggest enough.

I came with an age 88 friend who had fallen, and his hand kept bleeding. We waited only about 5 min to be seen. PA Anthony Huff and his staff were knowledgeable, proficient and kind. When we left, we both commented on what a nice experience it had been.

I had a terrible experience with Dr. Shirley Pham yesterday 10 August 2025. She never asked me a single question about my injury, never examined or touched my finger, and took no history. She simply walked in with a splint, i had to applied it!! ( and didn't do a good job) and told me to go home, ice it, take Tylenol, and call in the morning for an X-ray location.

When I asked what they could do for me on the spot — as I was in excruciating pain — she finally brought me Tylenol, which should have been offered without me having to ask.

I also pointed out that my finger was still dirty from the subway doors. She didn’t offer to clean it, nor did her assistant. I had to clean it myself in front of her using my own alcohol pads.

I left feeling completely dismissed, with no proper examination or basic care. I would not recommend her to anyone.
