I love everything about his place EXCEPT how hard it is to figure out rides and after care due to last minute notifications from the surgicenter for exact time of surgery not happening till after 3pm for a NEXT DAY procedure. In the real world we need to organize rides and babysitters and medication pick up, not to mention limits on diet and water, etc. Even a window like "morning" or "afternoon" is much better than crickets till 3pm the day prior to surgery. With all the wonderful aspects of this facility, this scheduling process feels really passive aggressive and like ambivalent customer service. Bums me out.

They changed my wife's surgery 2times making her be in pain for months. Then they told us her surgery would be in the morning. They didn't call until 5.30pm the day before to give us her surgery time. I took the day off to drive her 3 hours to Flagstaff and they let us know ow her surgery wouldn't be until 3.15 pm. I could of worked then took her to her appointment but they are very inconsiderate. They knew we had to drive a long was. Now I will get home and only get 3 hours sleep before having to be the the next day. I will never go here again.

Let me do this is two parts.

I had my knee replaced at this facility. We don't live in Flagstaff so we spent the night before and after the procedure locally. The morning of the surgery, the center contacted us and asked if we could come in at 12:30pm instead of our scheduled 1:40pm. Not a problem, we got there at 12:30. It ended up that I did not get called back until my previous time. I understand delays and scheduling but this delay caused an issue I will get to later.

First part, my experience. I had great staff, great care, the bed got a bit sore since I had to wait at least an hour or two before being wheeled back. After surgery, which I thankfully do not remember, I was brought to recovery. All went good here also. Family is not allowed back with the patient in any way. There is not too much extra space. When I was discharged back to the care of my wife, I was made aware of...

Part two. My wife was waiting all this time in their waiting room, which is somewhat small and not with too many amenities. At 4:45pm, the staff told her that they were closing the waiting room at 5pm and that she would have to vacate. Her only option was to go to the car as Flagstaff had snow the night before and was cold (January). Given she did not have to wait too long in the car before she came to get me, I feel that is totally unacceptable to close your waiting room like that.

We were not in control of the schedule and any delays that put surgery completion past 'closing time'. Why would my wife have to be the one that has to deal with their lack of planning and/or staffing?

My two part rating is as follows: Part 1 I give a 5, part 2 I give a 1, hence an overall of 3.

The office manager needs to address this issue, authorize overtime or allow family to go back to be with the patient if the lobby staff needs to leave.

This would not deter me from having another procedure done here, hopefully I won't have to, but I would ensure we have a plan B if things have not changed. I would definitely check if it had changed also.

If you have any orthopedic issues requiring more treatments than your typical in office treatments, while trying to avoid more invasive procedures then this is the place you want to go. Staff are very kind and helpful, best of all they Listen to you. Dr Swain is one of the coolest Dr’s I’ve ever had. The atmosphere here is very upbeat and happy, it helps relax a person having surgery & did I say Outpatient only?! I have a very long history of having multiple surgeries on my spine & I’ll never go anywhere else.

The staff are all very nice at the clinic in Kingman.

I especially like Melissa Ogden. She is very down to earth and explains everything really well.

Yesterday was my first time seeing Catlea Gorman, who is the surgeon who will be operating on my feet. She also explained everything very well, and gave me options other than surgery if I wanted to go that route. Ultimately, I'm choosing surgery because there is really no lasting fix for such a severe bunion and hammer toe. That being said, there was absolutely no pressure to set a date for the surgery right now, although it could have been scheduled within 2-3 weeks. I have to make plans for help during my recovery though, and was given the surgery packet (explaining everything even further), and was told to just call when I'm ready.

All in all I would definitely recommend Flagstaff Bone and Joint to anybody who is having problems with or has an injury to their bones or joints. They are great!

This place is unprofessional and inefficient. I have been an RN for 20 years and assist my 86 year old mother with medical appointments. I just took her to a scheduled appointment at the Cottonwood site and was told she was not on the schedule. We had the paper from the clinic stating today's date and time but were told 'sorry' we don't show you on our schedule but can fit you in a another time. We drove 30 miles round trip - so no, anther time does not work. The best part is
this is not the first time they have messed up. What has happened to health care? Sigh.

Front receptionist very rude, overall body language and demeanor very unprofessional. I do notice indigenous people somewhat treat their fellow relatives in a rude way. I was nice and had a smile on my face. She was very nice to the next patient and explained the paperwork in a nicer tone.

I felt Dr Gorman was very thorough and professional. I appreciated that she referred me to Northern AZ Radiology and Comprehensive Integrated Care for further evaluation!
