Worst customer service. Trying to reach endocrinology to change a video appt to an in person one…. I would think it’s a simple ask… but I lost hours just trying to reach the office. Hospital operators told me there is nothing they can do to help me with, I would just have to wait for the endocrinology office to reach out to me. Come on…. It’s a simple request that should be quick. Since when it become so difficult to talk to a front office person to schedule/ change an appt? Will try to use other providers, Hoag is definitely not putting any efforts in customer service.

If you're an easy patient expect a positive like experience .I have had both of my own experiences Good and bad. If you are a difficult patient (for example a heavy set patient) or you have a large number of family and friends concerned and involved. If you want your loved one to have a chance be involved read the end of day prognosis that each nurse gives when they end there shift on MY CHART Expect There to be issues .. wholes in there explanations...Grade of Care will become less and less. This place is so top of the line that they can get away with anything. I am not just saying this. I wont even go into how my mother was able to become sepsis while in there care My mother one day is given medication way to soon I specifically herd the nurse say it was four hours two soon abd when I cane back from a five minute restroom break they proceeded to give her the dose upon her request!!! and next thing you no she is no longer able to communicate The nurse had the nerve to ask me "How often does she act like this?" After being there for 30 days you wud no that she never acts like this Now we are spending every minute with her rotating between my sisters and other family members she's mumbling in another realm but with consistency we were beginning to get her little bits here and there to follow a command it was not easy but it would happen I would have to say 100x "can you say I Love You" and nore and more I would get a response but a nurse would walk in for a single second and tell her something like "show me two fingers" and when she didnt they would say no progress?!? Um WRONG if i say can you say Laura 100x and she says it one time that is progress! Now we had strict orders NO PAIN MEDS NO SEDATIVES SHE NEEDS TO WAKE UP they were asking us for approval for everything from xray to ct Then out of the blue they give her Fentanyl without approval without a warning My mother was only able to move one arm they restrained the one arm she could move and said oh btw we gave her Fentanyl!! All her progress down the drain !! She was plus size it took 3 people to clean her up they were so adamant on knowing if something happened would we resuscitate never say no we didn't want to put her through that but it wasnt till we said no n we leave for five minutes that we would come to find her completely exhausted no movement They decided her time to go against power of attorney without any discussion and disregard the orders of no sedatives her progress was our bit of hope but the new team on duty was not going to continue hard work so they easily go against strict orders and major concerns from all of us that she keep active and gAVE her wat they KNEW SHE COULDNT HANDLE CUZ THEY wanted to speed up the process OF OPENING HER BED TO PATIENT THAT WAS LESS EFFORT then filled us in when it was to late "Oh btw we gave her Fentanyl cause she was moving around alot and wanted to calm her down" MOVING WAS WAT WE WANTED WAKING UP WAS WAT WE WANTED! and they did it BECAUSE THEY CAN and no one will ever be able to do anything about it Hospitals are capable but they also provide a living to those who run the place and that will always be there best interests!! Lower grade hospital has less room for errors Be involved my mother has passed and I had to be told I cant cry loud or ill be kicked out Im sorry I didnt know my moms death was the first one to have people who cried or cared ! This place can do great things but they can get away with even greater because of the level of Rating they hold looks at the Robotic Responses to all the complaints there very similar and have no true sympathy! Hospitals Have protocols they are there for the money not for the patient thats standard ! I love you Mommy Rest Peacefully and Free from pain 😭 To the nurses that stayed consistent thank you consistency is the most respectable in such a negative situation

I went to the hospital straight from being in the ocean.went in on Sunday. And I had to tell the staff. I need a bath or shower or I was leaving 5 days after being admitted.every one walked in my room. And asked me questions like I was the doctor.every thing I asked. There said they would check on it. Out the door and never return.now I’m home over 2 hours away. I have a severe rash. They can’t tell me over the phone whether I should stop taking my antibiotics. They told me I could come into the emergency room.

My son broke his arm during a soccer tournament in the area. Went there, got x ray and they told me no orthopedic on staff on Saturday at 12pm. Ridiculous. Waste of time. I had to drive to UCLA and do it all over from scratch. Don’t go there

This review is for parking only: I believe parking should be free for all patients. It is ridiculous that we have to pay for parking. What if the patient doesn’t have any form of payments on them, what are they gonna do? Especially in an emergency. absolutely appalled shame on whoever’s idea this was. It’s already bad enough having to pay thousands of dollars for a hospital visit.

I would have given them 5 stars as the nurses and staff were great! The food was awful.. I’m diabetic and they brought me HEAVY carb meals at every meal and never let me choose my meal. They were giving me insulin all day!! Makes me wonder how much do they make off the insulin by giving HIGH CARB MEALS There has to be a reason they would serve potatoes large bowl, corn and bread for a meal or hot cereal, French toast (with syrup) Etc….
