I’ve always hated making doctor’s appointments from a lifetime of experience of letdowns and feeling like another number or chart as well as having all my past doctors being booked several weeks out. However, I saw Dr. Thompson’s insanely great reviews and made an appointment. I was able to get in within a week and my entire experience from check-in to leaving was incredible. Staff was so kind and efficient, Dr. Thompson was super thorough, informative, friendly, and overall just really helpful. I didn’t feel rushed, disregarded, or made to feel like I was over-exaggerating. On the contrary, my concerns were listened to and Dr. Thompson had a clear plan of action to address them. Best doctor ever!

Let me start off by saying, I haven’t been to the Doctors in years.

I saw Dr Thompson for the first time today and I’m so glad I did. I wish all Doctors had his bedside manner.

He listens very well, takes his time and won’t rush off to the next patient. The best part was he relates to you by sharing his personal life stories.

By the way, his nurse was awesome too!

While Dr Thompson seems nice, I feel he does not truly care about his patients well being. I am a long term insomnia sufferer and depends on Zolpidem for sleeping since 2019. To minimize its side effect, I try to reduce the dosage to half the normal 5mg by cutting the pills in half. He has been my PCP since April 2024. Yet when my medication ran out, he refuses to renew due to California law on Controlled Substance. He wanted me to go taking anxiety or depression medication instead or see a shrink! After much back and forth, he prescribed a 5-day sleeping pill (Ambiem or Lunesta) and told me this was mandated by California law on Controlled Substance. When I asked him for supporting evidence, he told me to read up on CA medical board. And from what I read this medication is prescription only. But no where does the law say only prescribe 5 days. It does not matter I have been taking Ambiem for 5 years without noticeable side effect. It does not matter that I myself have been trying to reduce the medication to the bare minimum (sometimes only 1/2 of the 5mg pill). It does not matter that I depend on this for a reasonable night of sleep. He just would not prescribe. I am not sure if this has anything to do with the fact that I am an Asian senior, but I think he just cares more about himself not stepping the boundary at the cost of his patients true well being. Since my previous California doctors prescribe Zolpidem no problem. Why would this become a problem with him?!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Thompson for 17 years. He is by far the best!! He takes his time and listens and gives several options for most medical issues. He responds very quickly to emails and provides the best medical care possible ! Love him and can’t say enough positive about him.
