Dr. Martarella is a very knowledgable expert on sleep. However, I sadly do not think she is an emotionally safe practitioner. I am a social worker and find her communication style really troubling.

I had a panic attack off camera in a session after Dr. Maratella talked at me for 45 minutes straight about my other medical issues that are outside her scope of practice. In an email, I said I appreciated her holistic outlook, but let her know my boundaries around this topic & asked for help with a reoccurring camera issue. Her platform worked half the time for me while I had been having successful zoom meetings the entire month. I did not blame the Dr. for my triggers but hoped to process what happened and work to move our relationship forward. The week goes by without any contact from her. No VM's, nada.

When we did speak, she was dismissive, defensive & lacked a basic humility this is essential for any safe relationship. I do not believe she is trauma informed or is client centered.
