Update: Received another bill the total cost of care for 3 visits would have been $3028 out of pocket. I pay an insurance premium of $3500 to anthem blue cross every year so that brought my out of pocket expense at UCLA health to $707.87.

——-
My bill came back and my insurance company covered some of my hospital bills so my total for my 3 visits was $700. But if you don’t have insurance it will be very expensive to go here. Without insurance the cost would have been $2000.

——
I was told by the front desk during my 3 visits that I did not owe a copay or balance as I was in network with Anthem Blue Cross. You can imagine my surprise when the medical bills arrived. UCLA urgent care and also UCLA primary care doctors charge you more if you're more sick. For example, my first visit in November I was designated at tier 3 (level 3) by Doctor (A) and was charged $508 and given a plastic one use ice pack for my arm pain with no further instructions other than to return if the pain persists. I went back again for visit #2. Different Doctor (B) told me i can either go see my Primary care doctor or return if the pain worsens and keep ice on my arm. Visit #3 Doctor (C) designated me at level 5 ($1500) for antibiotics, also he ordered an xray, flu test, blood panel, covid test, strep throat test ( each of these tests $100-200). Dr (C) told me to return on Tuesday for additional xray and ctscan. I called multiple times asking how much I would be charged. Today he called me back and said he could charge me at level 2 for today's visit. I said I'll just go see my primary care doctor also a ucla doctor on Mindanao way Dr (D). The manager and billing department at ucla call me today. Billing department says they can't give me a quote for my 12/18/24 doctor appointment with my primary care physician because I will be charged based on how sick I am. So the more sick I am the more ucla will charge me. Depending on my level of illness. She was also condescending and rude so I decided to change my pcp over to cedar Sinai. Other hospitals don't charge like ucla with regard to tiers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Your sickness level determined by the doctor corresponds with how much you will be billed for the visit. The reason for visit #3 is because I was experiencing flu or covid or strep throat like symptoms after visiting their doctors office 2 times in November a patient next to me in the waiting area was violently sick with flu like symptoms without a mask on. $12 for parking 🅿️ with no validation.

Avoid this facility at all cost. I went for an urgent care visit which lasted 15 minutes. No x-ray scans or anything special. They ended up charging me over $1,000 for my visit. This is over four times the amount I've ever had to pay for any urgent care visit. Nothing about the cost was ever communicated to me even after I asked. I will never be visiting a UCLA facility again.

Absolutely awful. I went in twice in one week. I asked them BEFORE my appointment to run my insurance, as some clinics are covered for me. They said they did. When I checked out, I asked how much I would be billed and they said $0. I did the exact same thing on my next visit the same week. Only to be billed $1500. Do not trust them to give you any reliable quotes for care or to even call/run your insurance when asked. Do not go to this clinic.

Worst parking lot for an urgent care. Was having literal emergency and they sent us to the ER. Accidentally pulled into the wrong side and got stuck - no button to call and no way to get out without a key card.
