Fix your system or train staff better. This isn't just Yuma, it's throughout the VA. Many times I've been lost through the cracks because "the way the nurse put the notes in". Nurse triage help line sent me to the ER for a serious medical problem I had already requested an appointment for. 5 days later I run the phone maze to reach the office and the request hadn't been touched. Finally get a call that a nurse can do a video appointment in 3 weeks!? How does that help me

I haven’t used the VA much since I had great private company insurance. Late last year my wife and I went into the VA Medical Center in Yuma, Arizona. The staff apologized for the wait time, they were kind and friendly. I don’t remember the Nurse’s or Doctor’s names but they were great. Thank you all for your service and sacrifice in support of us Veterans!

I've been in the VA health care for 20 years and have had 5 major surgeries with great success in all. I've never had a problem scheduling appointments and have been treated with excellent care. If it's so terrible I can't figure why a person would go there for health care? I don't think anyone is required to use the system. Keep up the good care for us VA doctors and nurses please. Thanks to you all!

Mohamed Rochelle lies to patients doesn’t care she’s always so monotone and uninterested. If you need anything they will disappoint you give you the run around while you run out of medication you need everyday just to survive need a refill good luck!

Called to transfer primary care to Yuma. Was transferred to Tucson and asked a few questions, it couldn't have been easier. Later received a call from Yuma to set up an appt. I've dealt with the VA for 20 years and never had things go so smoothly I hope it continues.

This review is based on my own experiences with this VA clinic in the pass several years.

Pros:
1) The doctors and nurses are wonderful
2) Clean clinic
3) Free Eye exam & glasses

Cons:
1) Front desk staff is a “hit or miss” regarding informations. DON’T take someone’s words for it, DO YOUR RESEARCH!
Examples:
a) I was told by the receptionist that there’s a “limit” to the amount of time I’m allow to go to the urgent care. CORRECTION: The VA website “community care” clearly states that there is NO LIMIT for the amount of time a vet can be seen (Copay can apply base on priority group).
b) I had questions regards to who can reimburse me for the out of pocket in-network prescription medication by the urgent care. The first time I called, I was told that I was NOT eligible for prescription medication.
CORRECTION: Any medication prescribe by the urgent care under 14 days is covered by in-network pharmacy and seek reimbursement with the nearest VA facility. Therefore, I went with my gut instinct and called a few days later. A male receptionist told me to just bring in the receipt or fax them for reimbursement.
I’m happy he was able to help me out but I wish that I had that information the first time around.

Overall, this is nice clinic and the wait time is not that long.

Hard working group of folks at this clinic. They do not receive enough praise for what they do. I think that Vets sometimes fail to realize that it is a Government organization very similarly ran as the DoD when we were all active duty. With that being said, it is not perfect. However, I can only speak for myself. They do everything they can for me and I am grateful for them and the work they put in despite all the red tape they have to navigate through to provide good patient care.
