Worst experience of my life! A routine diverticulitis flare up turned into my heart going into afib and my blood pressure all over the place. I suspect the reason for this, was because of the IV line that had slipped out of my vein and all the medications and antibiotics were draining into my right arm. This situation was not noticed for 6 to 8 hours, which caused my heart rate to jump to 160 plus and go into AFib. Fortunately the cardiac department was able through a cardiac drug to get my heart back in to regular sinus rhythm. That afternoon they decided I was ready to be on a clear liquid diet at which point I had a lunch and dinner which consisted of the usual clear diet. The next day they told me I was ready to go on a regular diet, and that they were going to check and see how I did. At 12:45 I had the roast beef dinner with green beans, roast beef and a pasta. Without any doctor coming in to check on me, my main nurse named William at 2:45 came into my room and told me I was going to be released! Within an hour after being home I was almost in a full-blown flare up again! Fortunately I was able to pick up the antibiotic that they prescribed me and I'm trying to convalesce by myself on a liquid diet... I know mistakes happen, but if they would had at least followed protocol it could have been a healing pleasant experience.

I was called in soon after my arrival and they immediately did the scan. I was in & out very quickly. The people working there were very friendly and explained what they were doing as they changed & told me when my Dr would be getting the results.

As always, the staff at Onvida has been wonderful. I am so grateful we have such quality people working at our hospital. Every time I've been a patient here I have had so many issues that were taken care of professionally and with care.

Only good part is and after dr lewis left was the labor and delivery department.

My mother had a compound fracture of her tibia and fibula and was sent there by ambulance. Once there the dr put the bone back in place. Performed a surgery to keep bones in place. The same day they wanted to release her. We ask to speak to a patient advocate and she did help us and allowing her to stay a day or two more. This whole time they are giving her 3 types of pain medication every 2 hours. We asked for her to be able to go to a rehab instead of home. Then one day they took her off one of the pain meds and even tried rehab but she was still in so much pain that her blood pressure went up. This whole time they are still wanting to release her. We kept asking for an advocate and they would say they are on their way and would half a day or a day to get to us. When her blood pressure went up we asked for an advocate again and complained about why this was going on. Then they finally said she could stay another day since her blood pressure went up and started her back on her 3rd med. After that they said she only could go to Life Care which is a dump. She was there a couple of days on 4 hours of meds. After a week and half of this she has her surgery. The dr said she wouldnt be in any pain after surgery and that she could go home after that. She had her surgery and 3 hours later was released. As soon as she got to Life care her meds started to wear off and the pain was as bad as when she broke it. All they could give her was oxycodone 10mg. Her blood pressure went up again and we called 911. Once at the hospital again the matter was not urgent so they took their usual couple of hours to get to her. Her pain level was at a 10. Moaning and screaming. All they could say was she wasnt staying there that they would only give ibuprofen when she was given oxy. Finally the dr came in and started feeling where here plates and screws were at and said the bandage was too tight and she needs ice. I again asked for a hospital advocate and they said they would call someone. Dr said they could not keep her and would have to release her. I am just so confused on how hospitals work. I thought you go there to get help. She needs pain management so she can heal and recover. First she should of never been released 3 hours later. Finally they said she could stay there overnight and then she will be released and be sent home with ibuprofen. I will file a complaint with their adminstrative, Arizona Department of Health Services, and the Joint Commission. Someone needs to put a stop to this terrible hospital. Then you wonder why they change their name. If you want to die, go there. The photos are too bad to show.

After speaking and bringing up the issue they seemed to care and try to resolve the issue. One nurse we had her name was Sarahi she did a great job. They eventually were able to handle her pain management. Her ortho dr and surgeon also did a great job.

As I fought for my life in the ICU, which was unbeknownst to my EMERGENCY CONTACT, the hospital called that person on my behalf. But NOT TO INFORM HIM OF ANYTHING RELATED TO ANY LIFE THREATENING EMERGENCY. NOTHING OF MY CONDITION PERIOD. THEY HAD THE AUDACITY TO ASK WHO WAS GOING PAY MY MEDICAL BILLS.

In all my hospital visits since last November, I have never had negative experiences with any type of hospital staff who saved my life and proceeded to promptly meet my every imaginable medical need with diligence and extreme humanity and kindness in the days I recovered. The only bad experience I have ever had is my emergency contact was NOT EVEN INFORMED OF THE CRISIS THAT GOT ME INTO THE AMBULANCE THAT TOOK ME TO THE HOSPITAL. HE WAS informed of NOTHING PERIOD and he was ASKED FOR MONEY instead.

My initial experience at Yuma Regional Medical Center was quite frustrating, as I had some negative interactions. Parking was inconvenient, security staff were not welcoming, receptionists seemed unhelpful, and I had some concerns about the nursing care. Additionally, I found some doctors to be less than approachable, and I felt the hospital may have prioritized profits. On a positive note, I did appreciate that the hand sanitizer dispensers were consistently stocked.

However, reflecting on my experience more objectively, I do recall some individuals who made a positive impact, such as Martin and a friendly Russian lady who work in labor and NICU

During my recent visit to Yuma Regional Medical Center, I found the overall experience to be an improvement over my previous stay, although it still had room for further enhancement. I had initially considered relocating to Texas for better care before my daughter's arrival, but this time, it was not the nightmare I had experienced before.

Parking was more manageable, and the room we were assigned had a bench, allowing me to sleep comfortably, unlike my previous visit when my wife had to vacate her med bed. The nursing staff seemed more attentive, and the doctors were both friendly and professional. The availability of hand sanitizers remained inconsistent, though.

I was pleased to find that the receptionists were nicer, and appointments were honored as scheduled this time, unlike my previous experience. Thankfully, there was no exaggeration of my baby's health condition this time, which had led to unnecessary time in the NICU during my son's birth. That all seemed like an insurance-related healthcare fraud of Unnecessary Procedures.

Additionally, I did encounter a frustrating delay in obtaining discharge paperwork, waiting for over 2 hours. This was an inconvenience that could be improved upon.

It's disheartening to hear about my friend's recent negative experience at the hospital, where her due date was inaccurately calculated, resulting in a prolonged stay and complications after a cesarean section. It's my hope that Yuma Regional Medical Center can continue to make strides in improving their services. No one should have to endure a nightmare experience while the medical staff enjoys their careers. Wishing for positive changes and better experiences for all who seek care here. God bless all the students they were training, coming in and out of our room. God bless Yuma, I won’t exactly miss this place.

So today I called the Executive offices to start a complaint regarding multiple things that happened while my father was in this hospital and they were the ones that accidentally told me my dad died. What a horrible way to find out about a loved one. Horrible
