We owe so much to Avery’s House for helping our daughter find her voice. The communication was so open, and the support was beyond anything we expected. Months later, we’re still amazed by her progress. She’s now more open to accepting help, and we’re so grateful for all they’ve done.

We were very dissatisfied with our daughter's treatment at Avery's. Not only was the staff not communicating with us, they did not assist in any way to get her continued treatment elsewhere, that was recommended by your staff. We had mulitple communication attempts with her therapist, and the clinical director for which we received limited responses, very little assistance, and no compassion. Staff also allowed a personal relationship to occur between our daughter and another patient. This was extremely inappropriate and also against the rules. This impeded her treatment. Two years later, this relationship still continues to scar her. This facility was not accepted by her insurance and it was financially crippling for us ($35,400 out of pocket!!). Avery's is only concerned with getting our money (without insurance) and not about the quality of care for our daughter. If Avery's was contracted with our insurance there would be rules against price gouging. But instead Avery's price gouged us directly and took advantage of our desparation to get our daughter help.

i went here exactly a year ago. i was struggling with my mental health, so i flew from mi to go here. it was absolutely amazing. there’s opportunities to get out of the house and go to the arcade, get ice cream etc. you can talk to therapists when ever needed and they are all amazing. in my experience though, there was some staff workers that had been treating the kids with disrespect. one would food shame etc. other than that if your child is struggling, i recommend this place.

Parents should take into consideration some of the things we learned from our daughter's experience at Avery's in Apache Junction.
- Our 16 year old went to Avery's willingly but not 100% sold on this being the best path for her. 6 days into her stay she had enough, left, found a stranger to use their phone, and called a friend for a ride back home. Avery's is a "hands off" facility which means they don't chase someone down if they walk or run away. Avery's called the police to report that she had left but when the police found out our daughter made it home that was the end of their involvement. Avery's case manager called to refer to us a more controlled facility if we wanted to go that route. However the only others that kept in touch with us after that were the accounting team.
- For 6 days of care Avery's billed over $30,000.
- We did not have enough time to determine whether the treatments and care that Avery's provides is worth about $6000/day. During our daughter's stay we did frequently communicate with her and those helping her. She seemed to be in good hands. From other reviews here it seems there is good to be gained from Avery's. Be aware that your child needs to be committed to the extended stay or they can just leave.

Avery's House has been an integral part of the healing process for our daughter. The facility is beautiful, spacious, clean, and modern. The staff is welcoming and engaged with the adolescents that are there receiving services. I am grateful for Avery's House and the services they provide. Our daughter received the treatment that was tailored to her needs and the therapy that was important to her overall well-being. I would recommend Avery's House to any adolescent in need of care and treatment. Overall, we were impressed by the entire program, process and treatment our daughter received while staying here.

Will drive a wedge between you and your child if you refuse to adopt the "meet them where they are" approach used by their therapists. Will side with your adolescent child regardless of what your values are and what you're trying to instill in them, and use you as a blame target as to why therapy did not work.
