We found Desert Mobile Medical and Dr. Copeland when my wife was discharged from hospice and we were looking for providers and caregivers to replace the RNs and CNAs that hospice had provided. My wife’s disabilities made it virtually impossible for her to go into an office. We needed someone who would come to our home. Palliative care was the obvious and logical choice, but I discovered that Palliative providers would not prescribe all of the medications that my wife needs, so we kept searching for the right provider and finally found Desert Mobile Medical.

Our first visit was in person. Dr. Copeland came to our home, and he and I spent about an hour discussing my wife’s current medical condition, her health history, medications, and many other aspects of my wife’s life and current situation. This was the most thorough and comprehensive intake interview we have ever had, and my wife has seen dozens of doctors over her long medical history.

One of my wife’s issues is severe chronic pain. Most providers refuse to prescribe pain medications. Anyone who prescribes opioid medications is under DEA and/or Medicare scrutiny, and most providers just don’t want to deal with that. I don’t blame them, but there are many people like my wife who have a very real and very legitimate need for these meds. Dr. Copeland is very familiar with severe chronic pain, and said he would make sure she was prescribed adequate and appropriate pain medications, and he has.

All of our subsequent discussions with Dr. Copeland have been by phone, which helps us tremendously since my wife isn’t able to easily go in for an office visit. Dr. Copeland is such a personable and pleasant man that it feels like we are chatting with a friend instead of having a doctor appointment. He is very patient, kind, and understanding. His empathy and understanding of my wife’s situation is far greater than any other doctor she has had.

We are now about 2-3 months in as patients of Dr. Copeland. Now that we have her medications stabilized, he is coaxing her to start some physical therapy and counseling. He clearly is treating the full range of my wife’s condition, and not just prescribing pills to keep her comfortable. After being under hospice care, in which comfort care is the focus, it is refreshing and encouraging to have someone looking out for all of my wife’s needs, and not just the physical aspects of her condition. My wife and I love Dr. Copeland, and cannot speak highly enough of him, both personally and professionally.

I found Desert Mobile Medical just at the time I really needed it: when my husband’s dementia got to a point where leaving the house to see his primary care doctor got difficult. To have access, for such an affordable rate, to great doctors at home is fantastic. I would highly recommend this medical team to anyone.

I had an extremely bad experience with this company. I hired them to care for my elderly brother who is homebound. After three visits I found my brother hanging. He committed suicide. The medical examiner had to reach out to the doctor. I reached out to the doctor as well several times. He never return my calls. He never consoled me. He never offered me any information on one of my brother had mentioned suicide on his visits. To top it off the company charged me an additional monthly fee 2 days after my brother died. They will not return the fee until I send them a death certificate. This is adding another layer of misery on top of an already bad situation. I would avoid this company and avoid what I went through.

I called Dr. Goel because I had an abnormal finding in a breast ultrasound. I had to wait 3 months for a MRI through my regular physician. Dr. Goel got me in for a MRI the following day. The results were healthy. I saved months of worry and doctor visits with just one call. Don’t wait to use Desert Mobile Medical. They get you prioritized care immediately! Buyer beware.
I chose Dr Goel for care because there were so many excellent Google reviews. Upon first phone call, he promptly responded, came to our home later that, and provided good medical care. We thought he was great.
And then, things changed.
I developed a very challenging medical condition and he became difficult to reach or communicate with. I had to request a referral several times over the course of weeks for a specialist which he ignored until I told him, begged him, that the specialist needed his referral to work with me. (My next doctor is amazing and sent referral same day).
We have tried to cancel our membership now a couple of times via phone, email, written letter (per his demand) and to no avail. My husband and I were both charged again this month.
So it’s a bit like the hotel California. Things start off well, but quickly become not so great. And then of course, you may never be able to leave…
