Just wanted to make sure I left a review. I went in this morning with pregnancy complications and just wanted to say Nurse Briana and April were excellent. I was really scared and my anxiety was through the roof she assured me everything was going to be fine and she got me through it. Really could’ve asked for better!!!

I suffer from several rare conditions lupus, MS, ANA, protein s deficiency ,EDS, Pots , MCAS a history of pulmonary embolisms and DVTs And one being c1q1 this disease is extremely rare and reacts to my other immune diseases and autoimmune diseases. Last night I had a heart rate into the 130s for several hours with chest pain, shoulder pain, dizziness and nausea we called 911 who verified those symptoms, one of the paramedics on scene decided my change in breathing was a panic attack, I do not suffer from panic attacks inducing rapid breathing, what I kept saying was C1Q1 airway , he said I have to google that. One, he had already decided it was a panic attack which he then told the attending dr, who treated me as such in the entire stay I saw the dr twice once to upon arrival and second departure. They gave me an epi shot thinking that treats c1q1 which in fact does not It requires a profolactic infusion followed by plasma. Instead I was treated for hyperventilating. I am still suffering, my o2 varies but my heart rate is staying at 120 beats per minute . Doctors and paramedics who do not understand the domino effects of auto immune conditions and rare diseases should not be so quick to make a snap judgment. I was treated like I was a crazy person all but one kind nurse , the others proceed to yell at me telling me to stop shacking, all which are reactions to the body not properly receiving air. My airway was collapsing and instead I am being yelled at. After hours of nothing they finally ran an exray .. I assume to be for a pe , having had Pe in past those Ct scans should last an hour or more this was five minutes not enough time to do a through scan.At no time did they speak to my husband who was fully prepared to give them a through list and explanation of my diseases! And then just like that sent me on my way ( oh forgot to mention they gave me versus to knock me out , which it did, and then I was headed home with a no work for two days due to hyperventilation. Now I know good and well no one hyperventilates and then is home for two days, it even said hyperventilation only last 20-30 min. Please explain 10 hours of symptoms several hours of restricted breathing . On a side note my chest still hurts, I am dizzy , my heart rate 120’s. But over my dead body would I go to this hospital again. If as a medical professional you do not understand a disease you find someone who does . I now have two appointments today and after speaking with my drs will likely be hospitalized! I want to further note situations like this keep people with rare diseases from seeking medical attention, but instead makes them more susceptible to die at home. If you don’t understand rare conditions seek out someone who does! This trip was extremely expensive for us and not something I would do for a panic attack! Highly disappointed in the medical staff that cared for me last night. Huge shout out to the ambulance driver who seemed to listen , and the fire department who equally listened before my airway began swelling shut! I hope that the hospital will give a training class on rare diseases, I will happily come explain signs and symptoms and methods of care for my conditions!

Nurse Sheila was great but these poors nurses are running around taking care of 4 really sick people. It seems like they're spread to thin to give everyone enough attention. Doctor was good too but I think He also had too many people to care for so I only saw him for maybe 15-20 mins in the 8 hours I was there. Facility was dated and lots of things were broken in my room.

If I could leave no stars I would. On a recent visit to have a CT scan done I had the absolute worst experience.
1) The registration went ok except the girl registering me asked me to speak up because she was listening to gospel on her phone. Charged me for 2 separate scans. I was only getting one. It all worked out and was reimbursed my money. Not sure yet if the insurance company was billed for both yet.
2) When I got into radiology the two men doing the test didn't know what was going on. They had to call my Doctor to find out which scan was to be done. Without dye or with.
3) One of the two men had to take a blood test before putting the dye in. That was fine. Then he tried to get the dye in and the other man came over whispering. After a minute of pain in my arm they thought it best to try the other. ( My arm was black and purple for a week. Not a small bruise either. It was about a 3 inch circle.
4) Moving to the other arm the other man went about putting in the IV and it was the most excruciating IV I have ever received. Imagine someone taking a switch blade and putting it in your arm and turning it. I asked if they knew what they were doing and if they had ever done this before. I'm thinking no. I'm pretty convinced that they may have been part of a maintenance or janitorial crew. I escaped from the hospital bruised and still in pain.
I would not send my ex there for any reason and he is dead. What an experience.

(First, please keep in mind that most of the people that leave feedback are the ones that may have the slightest bit of negative experience, and they usually exaggerate greatly...every single experience I have ever had here has been great...)

My entire experience was great! I only waited about 10 min before I got into a room, and had a nurse almost immediately, and the coolest doc ever in about 10 minutes... Rena was the sweetest nurse...she checked on me very often and was sure to always try and keep me comfortable...And the doctor had the most amazing bedside manner... He treats you like your his best friend... I even told my husband that I would totally love to be friends with that guy! I always feel very comfortable here and cared for...

I broke my wrist/forearm. Was seen, diagnosed and treated in under 2 hours. Entire staff were pleasant. Totally felt comfortable and treated so awesome. By far best ER visit.
I'm writing this review to give credit where credit is due. Upon exting Parkway I received a Google review the request day so I completed it. Sadly it got posted for Decatur Main, not Decatur Parkway. I would never go to Decatur Main after a previous experience. Again thank you Parkway.
I was wondering why the reviews here are at a low rating. It seems the questions and reviews tie into one facility, which are two different places.

I had to report Pam whom works in the X-ray department! She spoke very ugly towards us and also was handling my 15 month old babies arm aggressively! She told me that my 15 month old wouldn’t follow command! I reported her I and hope disciplinary actions occur! She bossed around the other lady whom was in the same room working the x ray machines that worker acted like she was scared of Pam! I wouldn’t allow her to xray a rodent the way she talks and handles people! She’s very old and tired of her job she needs to retire and give it up she has no patience working with people let alone babies! Very hateful lady!

The care was excellent! My wife was quickly admitted and immediately treated in the ER. Numerous items of care were done. Excellent doctor, nurses, and technicians! Everyone was so professional, so knowledgeable, and so nice.
I highly recommend this hospital!
