I would avoid at all costs, this health system has really gone down hill - completely money driven - tried going for my annual physical exam and because I spoke about certain topics - one being an explanation on a previous doctor visit and second being a condition I have - all prompted by the doctor - I was billed for an office visit (not covered by insurance) instead of what I called to book - annual exam (covered by insurance). When working with the billing department I was told I need to say in my next appoint ( I only want to discuss things covered in an annual exam) Seems like they have a great scam running.

I'm giving them 5 stars because of the customer service efforts. Everyone was so polite trying their best to help me get referred for a broken wrist. My insurance wouldn't cover seeing the orthopedic doctors. No fault of the hospital. I was hoping to be seen by the best of the best!!! 😭💕

The staff was outstanging, very informative and attentive. My son broke his arm snowboarding, and the nurses and Dr's were so kind and caring. Added bonus they got a fantastic set on the bone and Kiddo will be back at it in 6 weeks!

I want to give these people five stars. I stopped off the train at Truckee station and had a seizure. I was with my mother and sister. They managed not only my health in that situation but also put my family at ease. I loved my nurses. Very thankful for the help I got.

The price that the hospital charged was ridiculously high. For example, I got a lower back brace (TREND EXTEND LSO) and was charged $1,204. The exact model typically sells for $100.

We took my Dad here when he suddenly became ill during a ski weekend. What we thought was a visit to the ER for a flu test turned into a night of tests, followed by admission to a room and a three-day stay. We might have proceeded with our travel plans, but they called us back almost immediately when some blood cultures looked suspicious. The doctors' thorough investigation into an escalating medical mystery situation certainly saved his life. Everyone from administrative staff to nurses and doctors was just incredible. Dad's medical situation and health history were transmitted smoothly from one doctor to the next. Everyone took their time with us and listened carefully. They treated him with dignity and respect and were more than willing to accommodate his dietary needs and supplements. Lab tests and imaging were fast, and information was explained clearly. The positive attitudes of everyone there, combined with the beautiful, resort-like facility, contributed to a sense of calm that greatly helped our stressful situation. The thoughtful strategizing and problem solving led to his being discharged at the right time, so that we could safely fly him home to continue his treatment. Our whole family is so grateful for the attentive care Dad received. Tahoe Forest Hospital is a special place!

LOVE THE NURSES AND DOCS, 5 STARS! 1 star for financial department, unhelpful, the hospital itself gouges, their charges are unbelievable. I feel for the people that have to collect these charges from hard working Americans with no insurance. The fees are outrageous!!!!
