This office is a complete joke. This is my first pregnancy and I’m am currently 34 weeks pregnant and my appointment yesterday made me lose all confidence in this office. Throughout my pregnancy, they have been giving me different doctors, which is completely fine, except for the fact that none of them communicate with each other or read my chart. I’m constantly given different information depending on who my doctor is at that appointment. The doctor they had me with up until a month or so ago apparently retired, and no one told me about this until I got a new doctor at my next appointment. My last 2 appointments I was told my blood pressure was high, and yesterday. After my blood pressure was taken 3 different times and the results were 3 totally different numbers, a new doctors walked in and before saying anything else to me told me I should go to the hospital. Now, I monitor my blood pressure in a daily basis and keep track of my numbers and I have never had a concern of a number over 140/90. I told them I did not want to go to the hospital unless it was absolutely necessary because 1) we’re in the middle of a pandemic 2) Shands is an hour away from the Ocala office I was at 3) because of covid, no doctors are allowing my husband to come to my appointments- which is a absolutely because this is half his child too 4) I felt completely fine. This doctor didn’t ask me how I was feeling, or what symptoms I’ve been having or anything. After I told her I didn’t want to go to the hospital, she basically brushed me off and told me to lay back on the table. She measured my belly and listened to the heart beat for like 5 seconds and was about to send me on my way. I asked her if she could tell me approx how big he was right now, since no one from my doctors office has provided this information to me since like August. She said about 3 lbs- which is funny, because I had an appointment at hello little one (where my husband can actually go to see the baby on an ultrasound) and at that time, which was about a month ago, he was measuring at 3lbs 4 oz. So then she changed her answer to 3-5lbs and decided to schedule me for a growth check ultrasound next week. This place is unbelievable. They told me that they’re short staffed which is why I haven’t been scheduled to see my normal doctor, and why my appointments have been hard to schedule. No one at this office knows what they’re doing. I heard good this about this office when I was first looking for a doctor and now I regret choosing this place. Why am I suffering because they are short staffed and have people there that are not trained properly? If I wasn’t already 34 weeks I would switch doctors because I have no trust left for this office and keeping me and my baby healthy. If I decide to have a second child, I WILL NOT use this doctors office for sure. Unbelievable.

If 0 stars were possible, that would be the rating I’d give this place.
First off the provider, Libby King, asked me questions about my family’s history and my history with addiction. I used to have problems with alcohol IN THE PAST but I’ve been sober for a very long time now. In fact, sober since way before I got pregnant. I gave her honest answers about it and her demeanor completely changed - she was unbelievably rude to me and essentially treating me like a criminal. At the check out counter, the woman there told me I’d be owing them an “OB fee” of $150 PER MONTH. I asked her if that was with my insurance and she said yes, that was the price after my insurance had been billed. I’ve been under the same plan for years and have never paid that much for any of my health care. This is my first pregnancy, so I asked my friends who have children already if they’ve ever had to pay anything like this. They said no, that they’ve never heard of that.
I called my insurance company and they told me not only had they never heard of an OB fee, they had no record of any claims for an OB fee for $150/month. I also called UF’s billing dept and they told me that they’d never heard of an OB fee. Both my insurance company and the billing department told me my next step was to call the office. I called them and the receptionist told me at the front desk that a financial counselor would be in touch with me by phone or a message in my patient portal - RADIO silence. My insurance company also tried to call the financial counselor and they were ignored!
I ended up cancelling my appointment and I’m in the process of switching doctors at 13 weeks pregnant. Stay away from this office. They’re an absolute joke and a scam. Hopefully they’re competent enough to send over my medical records to the new office of my choosing.

Where to start. I wish there was zero stars. I was not with UF Health until about 18/20 weeks into my pregnancy. They were referred so I THOUGHT they would be amazing. NOPE! I had minimum appointments until the last month, to include appointments rescheduled in there own. Oh and to add my NP basically never told me anything but “oh thats normal”. Let me tell you for a first time mom you would expect questions to be answered, or for your NP to talk to you. NOPE! I’ve had two ultra sounds total! Until I basically begged for a third the last week of my pregnancy because again my NP SOMEHOW CAME UP WITH A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT DUE DATE. Don't ask how At this point, my baby measured approximately 8lbs 13oz. Yet I’m stilled forced to be induce an entire week later. Trying natural birth. Then on my last week to see my NP she didn't even check my dilation, nothing!!! She tried to tell me the hospital check me. I told her they most definitely did not, but she blew me off. I called the hospital after that appointment and they confirmed there was nothing in any notes about being checked. Let keep going. I pushed to have an ultra sound done, and requested my membrane be stripped sense my NP (in ocala) didn’t want to do her job, so i went up to Gainesville for someone to do something, there comment to me was “they should have checked you”. Now its my induction day, i have NO set time to go in. So I call Shands Hospital A few days earlier for a time and they told me someone would call me. Weird. Normally you have a time when you get an appontment. Not one person called me. So day of I had to call 3 TIMES to then be told they only do 3 a day, and theres a list, so if that day prior they still have women in birth you MAY NOT GET INDUCED! and it can be later that night. Who in there right mind wants to try and start birth at night when you barely cant sleep as it is and definitely would be tired by the time it starts! That was my breaking point. Never have a felt like I did not matter, never have a felt like a number on a list, never have I ever felt so pushed under a rug. UF HEALTH made this entire experience more stressful and unpleasant then I have ever heard someone going through with pregnancy. Ive never been so sad and depressed. It was so horrible I did NOT GO TO SHANDS FOR MY INDUCTION. I called Winnie Palmer Hospital in Orlando and right away i felt like I actually mattered. That would be today. I am physically on my way to Winnie Palmer.

I have seen three providers in this clinic Dr. Nelson, Dr. Johnson (for primary care) and Dr. Larzelere (for GYN). They are so warm and welcoming and listen to you. You are not just a number to them. They are all efficient and check in and check out staff are lovely as well. Definitely would recommend primary care and GYN care here.

1 star is over rated for this place. Poor management, even worse patient care and as a general (family) practice center it should be shutdown and re-staffed with people who KNOW what they are doing. Went in for an appointment for a blood test and the lab was closed for "lunch".

I have called the Heath Brook office at least 6 times during hours of operation and no-one answered the phone. I kept getting back into an information loop but never able to make an appt.

Dr. Johnson made me feel heard and addressed all of my concerns. I’m in much better health thanks to her guidance.
