Dr. Michelle Wood was fantastic. Unfortunately, she moved. Ever since her departure, I have had nothing but issues with the staff. I received a bill back in October 2024 and I had immediately contacted the office to confirm that they had my secondary insurance. They had informed me that they don't bill secondary insurance companies and that I the patient has to do it myself. So, I submitted my bill and filed a claim. Unfortunately, the claim is still pending as I had found out today, 3 months or so later. I get a call today from the office and I was under the impression that they were confirming my appointment for this upcoming Monday, March 24th, but turns out it was to inform me that I have a $350 outstanding bill. I then asked to speak to the manager and I spoke with Melissa and another girl. They told me that if I don't pay the bill, they will not see me and drop me as a patient. I offered to make small payments until I work this out with the insurance and they denied it. They advised it's illegal for them to bill my gap insurance, which is BS. Keep in mind, prior to a small procedure that was done, no benefits were ever verified. I have never been through something like this in all the years that I have been seeing an OBGYN. Since Dr. Wood left, it has been nothing but awful. My mother received a bill, so her and my father immediately went to the office to let them know they billed for medication when they were supposed to bill for an annual exam. They threw my parents out and dropped my mom as a patient. I will be reporting this to the medical board. This is so unfortunate. They bill incorrectly and they don't check your benefits. It's all about the money, not about caring for the patient. I would NOT RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE AT ALL. I will be sharing my experience on all platforms and will be consulting with a laywer. Thankfully I work for one. So unfortunate. I am extremely stressed over this and very upset. Had they verified my benefits, we would not be in this situation as well as then submitted a claim to my gap insurance that I pay for. It's not illegal like they said. Smh. Every single Dr. I see, remitted the bills and they were paid.

Dr. Riley was very kind and reassuring! All services were very impressively prompt and I feel like my team really listened to me and let me have the type of surgery and treatment that I wanted, while still making sure I was fully informed. I had surgery two days ago and so far everything has gone well.

For well over a year, my 84 yr old mother has been under the care of Florida Women's Health, Ocala and has received excellent service. From the moment we enter the office, we are greeted by the extremely professional, friendly, courteous, patient, and knowledgable administrative staff. All medical professionals are wonderful also. We met Dr Riley recently and therefore understand that her dedication/love of her profession completely extends throughout the entire office staff. May God bless each of you and your loved ones; and thank you for caring about just another old lady as if she were your mother. Continue providing exceptional care and service!

EDITING TO ADD-
Look that this offices response. It’s so unprofessional and ridiculous. If they delete, I can always post it. They managed to call me after my review and tell me I was over $400 due for a refund. Funny that happens AFTER my review. Bet I would’ve never been told that info if it wasn’t for my post on here. It’s also funny the response was made almost exactly after Dr. Wood left- she was the only positive part of this place. Wish she was staying local. I HIGHLY suggest staying away from this practice.
Dr. Wood was FABULOUS. Any questions I had she answered, I felt so comfortable with her monitoring me and my child. She made my labor so comfortable and motivated me to keep going. Postpartum wise she has continued to stay on top of my blood levels and everything else. She has been an absolute dream of a doctor! However the low rating is due to the staff in this office- that’s another story. They don’t answer the phone 90% of the time, they requested my global fee for the delivery at 10.5 weeks , it was due a couple weeks after. (We are talking almost $2,000 they expected me to just pull out of thin air - not sure why you don’t get more time to pay this..
More times than I can count did I see the front desk staff being HIGHLY rude and disrespectful to patients. I have been directly billed at time of service for ultrasounds 2x when my insurance paid it out, still awaiting my refund for the second one I paid for out of pocket. I once waited almost 2 hours to be called back and another hour until anyone came in to see me in the room. The place is a disaster overall and I will be switching for my gyno care as well as any future OB care.

I saw two different doctors there, and they were both great. But the way the office is run is awful. I had a procedure done that I was never told the pricing for until I arrived. And it was expensive. So I didn’t have the money at the time. Then, I had another expensive procedure done, where they told me I could pay half up front, and then they would bill me. They claim they sent me 3 bills, I only got one, and the bill itself said it was current, yet 2 weeks later, I get a bill from a collection agency. They also tried to charge me for a no show visit, even though I never made an appointment. And they somehow scheduled me for 2 appointments that I never scheduled. And now, after paying the bill from collections, they dropped me as a patient for “non compliance”. Whatever that means.

This practice is amazing! You are greeted by the warm and friendly front desk staff. Very efficient and thorough care given to each patient. I did not feel rushed and all my questions were answered. The check out process was seamless and easy. If you are considering an OB/GYN practice, please consider Florida Women’s Health.

Words can’t say enough about this place! They are so compassionate & professional. I feel like an actual person in this office. From the first visit I felt heard. I also love when I walk in the receptionist looks at me and politely says hello to greet me. I can’t tell you how many places I go these days where they don’t stop to acknowledge the person in front of them. So this was refreshing. Also anyone that has treated me has been so cheerful. You can tell the staff in this office want to be here which makes me not dread my appts. So thank you!
