I regretfully cannot recommend In Full Bloom Midwifery based on my experience. When I mentioned feeling cramps and pressure, I was told that it couldn’t possibly be a sign of going into labor early and that I would likely go past my due date. I felt dismissed, and my concerns were not taken seriously.

While I understand that the back-to-back hurricanes led to rescheduling, I feel that they missed a critical opportunity to catch an issue with my high blood pressure, which could have been addressed before the cutoff for a partial refund. This oversight left me feeling unsupported and ignored, especially considering the potential health risks involved.

After I gave birth in the hospital, the follow-up care was practically nonexistent. I expected more support, especially after such a traumatic birth experience. They made no effort to check in on me or offer any kind of guidance post-delivery.

When it came time for my partial refund, I was only given $300, which felt inadequate given the circumstances. The process was frustratingly slow, with repeated promises that the refund would be sent “soon.” Months passed before I finally received it. To add insult to injury, when I inquired about the refund, I was told I should consider it a “gift” and that I wasn’t truly “owed” anything. This statement was disheartening and unprofessional.

Additionally, I found their services to be significantly overpriced for the level of care I received. For the amount of money I paid, I expected more consistent support and follow-up care, but what I received felt more like a formality than true, attentive care. The $300 refund hardly seemed like an adequate compensation, especially considering the cost of the services provided and the lack of support during a vulnerable time. I honestly felt that for the price, the experience didn’t live up to expectations, and the value of what I received was far below what I paid.

Overall, my experience with In Full Bloom Midwifery was disappointing and left me feeling unsupported and undervalued as a client. I would caution others to carefully consider their options and seek out a provider that truly listens to their concerns and offers consistent care.

I delivered my daughter in December 2022 and went through In Full Bloom for my entire pregnancy. The prenatal appointments were great and what you would expect from home birth midwives like being more personable then you will find in a OB office. The reason I’m giving two stars is because of how my labor was handled. When I was in labor I progressed very fast and upon doing a cervical check at home they both thought the baby was breech. Because of that I transferred to Advent Hospital where baby was actually not breech just “sunny side up”. Neither Carolyn or Hannah transferred to the hospital with us which looking back is disappointing. We were treated very bad by the hospital staff and it’s unfortunate we paid $5500 dollars and neither of them came with us to the hospital. Something both midwives said is even though baby was not breech you can’t deliver a sunny side up baby at home so good thing we transferred. Well I’m pregnant with my second baby now and upon talking with other midwifes (certified nurse midwives) i’ve been told I absolutely can and that its not true. My advice would be to ask all the questions and from my experience I would find a midwife who is more experienced in the babies position and would let you deliver a sunny side up baby at home. Also, the midwife I’m working with now said if I ended up transferring that I would only have to pay for my prenatal appointments. I feel like thats the right way of doing things. I still had a completely unmedicated birth in the hospital with no complications and if I stayed home every thing would’ve been completely fine.

Carolyn and Hannah made my very healing HBAC possible!! đŸ„° ♄

During my first pregnancy in 2021, I had been cared for by a team of midwives and Carolyn was just an assistant, but when she showed up at my first attempt at a homebirth, she was incredible. Calm, caring, knowledgeable and she embraced a leading role during that long labor. I ended up transferring, but she really left an impression on myself and my husband.

When I became pregnant again in 2023 with our second baby boy, I found out that Carolyn had partnered up with Hannah and they had opened up a practice in Ocala. I was elated to know they supported HBAC!! Throughout the entire pregnancy, our appointments were something I really looked forward to. Both Hannah and Carolyn were always super welcoming, warm, and thoughtful. They always made my first son feel included too and would involve him in the routine check ups. Axel loved the “arm hugs” when they took BP readings and hearing baby brothers heartbeat! It felt like we were going to visit friends during those appointments. They always answered all of our questions and Hannah’s herbal knowledge was so helpful! They also have an in-house acupuncturist, Irina, who holds a special place in our hearts too and helped relieve any aches I had along the way. I really had an easy pregnancy thanks to all these women.

Most importantly, these women rocked it out when it came time to support me through labor and have my second son AT HOME!! Hannah and Carolyn are the perfect blend of support, helping to push your determination and courage when you need it most, while also offering words of kindness and calming affirmations along the way. It still feels like a beautiful dream some days when I look back on photos and videos from those precious moments, but these ladies truly made my dream homebirth a reality.

As I write this, I realize I could go on forever saying more wonderful things about the whole experience with In Full Bloom, but I’ll leave it at that. Love you both!!

Hannah and Carolyn two beautiful, loving, dedicated and just wonderful midwifes. You are able to built such beautiful bond with them both and they just make you feel like family. Your prenatal appointments will not feel like your regular doctors appointments. They will be appointments where all questions are answered and you will learn so much from them. Their practice is beautiful & so welcoming! My husband and I are very grateful for Hannah & Carolyn. Thank you both for making my first pregnancy journey so beautiful & feeling special!

Hannah and Carolyn are lovely, dedicated, and knowledgeable midwives! My prenatal sessions were relaxed and there was no pressure to have unnecessary testing done, unlike our experience with a local OBGYN. Hannah was quick to answer any questions I had and made me feel comfortable reaching out anytime I had a concern. Their office has a very warm and welcoming vibe! I remember my first appointment I was experiencing horrible morning sickness and Hannah jumped right in, rubbing my back and helping me clean myself up and I knew this was the place I needed to be.

Unfortunately, I was unable to have a home birth due to complications, so I was transferred to the hospital. However, I am sure that it would’ve been wonderful with these two there for support and guidance! I cannot recommend In Full Bloom enough to those who want a stress-free prenatal and postpartum experience.

Hannah and Carolyn provided my prenatal and postpartum care during my first pregnancy and birth. They are compassionate and knowledgeable in what they do. However, I do want to warn potential mothers of possible outcomes of your journey.

I ended up making it to almost 42 weeks and they advised me that I needed to be induced at the hospital. This meant that I had to admit myself to the emergency room to be seen by a doctor and be checked in for induction. After trying AdventHealth in Ocala and UF Shands in Gainesville where the doctors were telling me to have a C-section instead of inducing (large baby and higher blood pressure), Hannah and Carolyn worked through their connections to find a doctor who would be willing to allow me to be induced and try to give birth as naturally as possible. Dr. Mateer in Spring Hill agreed and I was admitted the next day.

Hannah and Carolyn came to the hospital to support me and gave me some positions to help during labor. But they weren’t there very long because one of their other mothers went into labor and they left to tend to her.

I gave them 3 stars for three reasons:
1) They didn’t assist during my birth at home, so I can’t give a review on what it would’ve been like had they delivered my baby.
2) Even though they came to the hospital, they were not present during the majority of the labor and the birth. And, there were some very hard decisions that we had to make during labor and I would’ve greatly appreciated having their presence and input since I had grown to trust them and their opinion.
3) We still had to pay the full amount for their services even though I ended up giving birth in a hospital. So, not only did we have to deal with the cost of their services, but also the mountains of hospital bills.

Overall, you will not go wrong hiring Hannah and Carolyn to be your midwives. I would just urge you to be prepared for an alternative that does not involve having a homebirth. And be sure to ask them many questions about potential outcomes of your birth experience.

Wish I could leave 10 stars for this practice!! Hannah was my midwife for my first baby and I could not have made a better choice for my baby and I. She is so passionate, graceful, and knowledgeable; you can tell she really takes pride in what she does. She was always an open ear for my concerns which is so so important when you’re pregnant and always available when I needed her, even if it was to ask a silly question because I was anxious. I love her to death and will recommend her to anyone and everyone.

I also had the pleasure of seeing Carolyn for a few of my visits and she is equally as incredible & sweet - they are truly a dynamic team.

Ladies, if you’re questioning home birth, these two would be more than happy to give you all the info you need and ultimately help bring your blessing EarthsideđŸ€ŽđŸŒŒ
