Its been a terrible experience from the change of my doctors when she went on maternity leave. I make appointments via tele conference, and they never come to our end. I've been on hold for over 45 minutes, and calling the office, and no one comes, when it time to reschedule or get a refill they tell you how many appointments you missed, but never that you called every time and held for long periods of time, they are now not refilling meds, and risking patients well being. I will follow up with the state in regards to this as well. I think its very irresponsible to their clients and their mental status.

The staff is great except for the so called Therapists. They have no respect for patients feelings. They treat you like you’re a 12 year old in 5th grade. Horrible experience. Great Drs and IOP manager Dario. But the ones who work with the group absolutely have no respect for what they call their patients. They can’t handle their own emotions let alone help others cope with their issues

I do not recommend anyone with mental health to come to this hospital. The nurses want to act like doctors. The doctors don’t call you back. You have a round around the whole time. My mother went in there and came out the same after being there for 15 days. They told me I need a judge order to get her released and that the judge won’t side with me. The places is extremely dirty and stinks. The nurses jut sit down and blast music. They don’t even walk with your loved. My mother was there for so long and every time I spoke with the nurses to tell them she’s going through something nothing ever happened. She was discharged with no bra, no shoes, her hair a mess, cloths all dirty and a broken bag. The nurse handed me discharged papers and didn’t even explain it. My mother went in there fully clothed with a bag full of cloths. Once they found her stuff they said she was marked off as if she didn’t brin anything. The cloths they handed me in the bag I had to throw out due to the smell it had. It was disgusting. This part of the hospital is the worst part of Aventura hospital. The discrimination towards people with mental health is horrible. Hospitals like this are the reason why mental health people are going through so many situations. No help at all. Every time you call to speak to a love one, the nurses are so rude. I made a complaint to the supervisor Claudia, to the doctor when he finally called me back 12 days after my mother was admitted and even to Sophia the director of the mental health. DO NOT BRING ANYONE TO THIS MENTAL FACILITY THEY JUST WANT THE INSURANCE MONEY THEY WILL NOT HELP THE MENTALLY ILL PATIENTS!!!!

My mom went here. When she complained that they never paid attention to her and that she felt a certain doctor didn’t like her. She confronted the doctor privately about her feelings and was told it was her perception and that it was disrespectful to have a private conversation about this. They then publicly shamed her in front of the other patients in group, yelled at her and said they liked the doctor she was complaining about and if she doesn’t like that doctor that’s her problem. Then another patient chimed in to call her a child and the doctor leading group sided with the other patient. So are you in the business of helping patients? Trying to get them to commit suicide? Or just defrauding the federal government to line your pockets?

Should be shut down by department of health. The way the behavioral health IOP program is run causes a risk to public health and human safety. They did not provide follow up after discharge, nor the ability to refill prescriptions after changing them, left a patient in need wholly without care, breached doctor patient confidentiality, employs a therapist who attacks patients and is highly insensitive to human care and welfare. Go anywhere else.

Asides from the Behavioral ER (I had a terrible experience since I felt alone), the BHS is not all that bad. I stayed at Sunrise Palms 4SE which is one of the best units to stay at. If you need a place for someone to listen to you, this is it. I do recommend Dr. Padam Bhatia, he is really down to earth and listens to you. I had a different psychiatrist who was alright but Dr. Bhatia is really good. Keep fighting, everything will be okay!

Worst place they do not have compassion in dealing with the mentally ill. My sister is schizophrenic and was transported here and was in their care for almost a week. When she was to be discharged to another mental health facility, they had a random taxi come to get her. No one was there to make sure she actually got inside the taxi, so she never went in the taxi and she was missing for 2 days.

This hospital should be shut down it doesn’t care about its patients I don’t know where to begin
First I was assaulted by the staff four times during my stay by the staff a lady named miss lynch just grabbed me with real long finger nails to the room with here nails a miliimeter from my eyes assaulted me from the hallway with no reason
Another staff member just grabbed me by the neck almost choking me
Three male staff pushed me down from the hallway to my room one was between both my legs I felt like I was gonna be rapped just to administer an injection I was not resistant to taking my meds
I was pushed by 3 male techs shouting at me to go to my room
It took four visit before dr vasques to get me stable
There is a room for punishment by administrative staff just to lock you in for punishment like a cell in jail
