I have always had positive experiences with the doctors at this practice (at least the ones I’ve seen). However, I’ve encountered issues with the reception and nursing staff that I believe need to be addressed.

During my most recent visit, I had a scheduled appointment for 2:15 PM. Due to heavy traffic, I arrived at 2:22 PM, and upon checking in, I was told that my appointment was marked as a “no show” because it was listed as being at 2:00 PM. I was quite confused, especially since I had the appointment confirmation email stating 2:15 PM. The nurse mentioned they had tried to call me, but I had no missed calls or voicemails on my phone.

I was hoping to speak with my doctor, as I had not seen her since August and was feeling quite unwell. When I asked the nurse if it would be possible to speak with the doctor once she was available, I was told that the doctor was already with another patient and would not be able to see me. I was informed that even after the doctor finished with her current patient, she would be unable to meet with me because of her note-taking responsibilities. I expressed the urgency of my situation, but unfortunately, I was met with a response that lacked empathy or professionalism.

While I understand that I was a few minutes late, I was within the 15-minute grace period, and my appointment was at 2:15, not 2:00. I truly believe that healthcare providers should prioritize patient well-being and provide support, especially in challenging situations. It was disheartening to feel dismissed rather than assisted.

I hope this feedback will be taken constructively to improve the patient experience at this practice.

Today I spoke with Mariana about an urgent medication compliance issue and she hung up in my face. I was calling with my young adult brother who is the patient and met with the most disgusting unprofessional attitude. These are the lives of human beings that are loved, it would be nice to be met with compassion and empathy. All I wish for Mariana is to learn empathy and compassion when dealing with patients and their family members. I hope you, Mariana, never learn how hard it is dealing with the mental health issues of an adult love one, because you can’t even deal with speaking on the phone. Your actions were deplorable and I hope Alex (manager), truly coached you on how to be better.

Absolutely a horrible experience for my loved one. Most of the RNs had attitude when asking simple questions regarding policies and procedures. They dismissed the patient when she asked questions regarding medication administration. They show no professionalism and do nothing but gossip while sitting at the front desk. As an RN myself, I’m appalled by the lack of empathy and professionalism. I had to contact administration to make a complaint about the lack of communication. After the phone call, a doctor finally reached out once during a 11 day stay to speak to me. They never make attempts to teach or communicate properly to the patient. Makes me so angry and uncomfortable that my loved one is being treated with disrespect. Such a disappointment and shame on you for giving loved ones and the patients an uncomfortable stay. I would suggest retraining for most of the staff members on how to properly follow protocol and the care for patients. Please stay away from this place.

I went here thinking I was going to have a great experience. I was speaking with Dr. Diaz but it seems she’s just a puppet to Dr. Komplella. Dr. Kompella comes in the room, doesn’t even speaks with me, and stereotypes me on my looks, tattoos and the flag on my hat and says I need a detox. She said she can’t prescribed me my medication I’ve been taking for about 10 years now. I came here to continue seeing a psychiatrist since I moved from another state were I was seeing my psychiatrist for many years and have been doing just fine. I even asked them to call my previous Dr. and speak with him and they refused and said they are not calling him. I did not expect this. But if you were someone whose pregnant wife and daughter was in a deadly car accident and you lose your pregnant wife, and your daughter survives, I would hope a Dr. would be compassionate and understanding to the situation and as to why I have been seeing a psychiatrist. But they were not compassionate at all and had no interest in helping. Very sad and unfortunate.

My mother an I have had over 15 different Psychiatrist over the past 35 years. After our first visit with Dr. Callahan my mother made the comment that she has never felt more comfortable with a Psychiatrist than with Dr. Callahan. My mother is a hard person to please and she sees things half empty, so her giving a compliment after the first visit says a lot. I noticed that the office staff is professional and personable which says another about the office. Our second visit my mom said she loved him which she has never said to a Psychiatrist before. He is thorough, confident, personable, and makes you feel he truly cares.

I recently became a patient of Dr. Alvarez and I have to say that it was the best experience I have had with a physician in a very long time. She was very attentive, listened to every word that I had to say and did not look at time or want to rush me out of her office. She explored with me all opportunities and even had some great suggestions and collaboratively worked with me at my level and with my internal and external resources. I would recommend her to anyone that needed a kind, compassionate, smart and engaging doctor.
