This location doesn’t like the homeless population or the male gendered (unless your submissive to narcissism). There is a hidden agenda by the all female NAMI staff of Sarasota. They know nothing about the types of mental illnesses and the symptoms that can occur. They force everyone to eat tiny meals on wheels while they have a fridge & freezer full of food, and a pantry with food bank items that the members or public aren’t allowed access to. The paid staff, however, can eat whatever they want and take home whatever they want. A bunch of the leftover meals on wheels then get thrown out at end of the week along with other expired food that could have been given out. Once they are done harvesting your personal information and passing you around to their affiliates for grant money, they will use your mental illness against you to ban you from services under clubhouse rule #1, similar dirty tactics used over at The Academy. The only other drop in centers in Sarasota are Resurrection House & Remnant Cafe where the homeless with mental illness can get food, water, use the restrooms, and get reprieve from the weather. The Salvation Army downtown has changed their policies so there are more people on the streets now and the solution from the city is to arrest them. Very few members or homeless showed up for NAMI Walks - just a festival of non profit vendors bleeding payroll dollars and raking in grant money from the State & Government.
Sincerely,
“Timmy”
