I am extremely disappointed with the unprofessionalism displayed by Odessa Children’s Surgery Center. They called us the day before my 5-year-old daughter’s scheduled surgery to inform us that the anesthesiologist was “too scared” to proceed due to a heart condition she has — a condition they were aware of for weeks. Her cardiologist had already cleared her as low risk, yet they waited until the last minute to make this decision.

Do you know how difficult it is to prepare a 5-year-old for surgery, only to have to turn around and tell her she’s “too much of a risk”? It’s heartbreaking and completely avoidable. If the staff had been diligent in reviewing her case sooner, we wouldn’t have had to endure this stress and disappointment.

Families deserve better communication and respect. Look at your cases ahead of time and inform parents promptly. This kind of last-minute decision-making is unprofessional in every way.

I just had my tonsils out and adenoids. miss rose trowbridge was a good doctor and so was the other ones service was amazing and also was the surgery. By the way my 9-year-old son wrote this one we were leaving on the way home great service

Only one worth a star is the doctor. Receptionist, billing, and the supervisors for the two departments are a complete joke. If you can avoid having to deal with anyone but the doctor, then this is a good place. If not, I wouldn’t recommend the headache.

My son is 12 with autism and is very limited verbally due to Apraxia. The staff from start to finish was fantastic! Our nurses were kind and helpful. The Doctors listened and Dr.Sierra is always great! My son struggles when waking up and it can take up to 2 hours for him to be completely aware and comfortable with leaving. We were never rushed and told to take as long as he needed which was so desperately needed in his case❤️ I will definitely schedule future procedures with them

Son had tubes and adenoids taken out at this location. Our first time being here was told to arrive by 645, was there by 635. They didn't open the doors until 642. The surgery itself and doctor were amazing but, the staff was very mixed. Half were nice and polite and other was very flat and short. Was expecting a little more friendliness in a kids setting. Don't expect much from recovery they just hand you your child basically screaming and walk away. Which i understand coming out of it they are confused and hurting. Overall, it wasn't the worst thing to experience but, they have the potential to be above 5 stars if staff was more compassionate and make it a better experience for everyone.

My daughter needed to go to this facility for an EGD.

I'm obsessed with how cute this facility is! This little pediatric center is amazing and so comforting for children! The entry room had a huge TV with a castle around it. Each vital check room had 3d details and little tvs with cartoons on them!

My child got to relax and watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse while they took her vitals! ❤️ My child loved her nurse. She flew into the nurses arms and did a trust fall 😂🤣 she kept trying to chew on the nurses purple galaxy nails!

All the staff we encountered were lovely. The nurses were kind and relaxing for me as a parent. Our physician, Condino, is great and thoroughly explained what my daughter's procedure would be and how long it would take. She thoroughly explained the recovery process as well!

Overall I hated having to be there but once I was there, I knew my daughter and myself were in great hands ❤️
