Yesterday (3/13/25), I was waiting in the lobby for my grandmother to get out of her doctors appointment in the internal medicine department of White Wilson Medical Center in Fort Walton Beach, FL. A patient came in, who was African American, was at the reception desk asking if they accept cash payments to pay her copay. The lady at the desk, I believe her name is Irma, replied with, “Yes, we just don’t take EBT.” She was disgustingly rude, and this is NOT the first time I have heard this woman be ugly to patients, and even other staff members. She has made racist remarks, she is down right RUDE. I have even heard other patients complaining about Irma’s attitude, to which a patient even told Irma she was “acting spicy.” Absolutely uncalled for. People are ill and trying to feel better. I will be in contact with the HR department because clearly reaching out to the supervisor does nothing.

My partner was brought in by EMS. For over an hour I tried to get back to him. The receptionist kept putting me off. I found another employee who took me back right away. The Dr attending him was waiting on me to answer questions since my partner was not coherent when brought in. Ya gotta do better.
Secondly. I'm surprised you allow your staff to were strong scents. I have allergies, as I'm sure many people do.

I can understand why White Wilson is going under!!! Number one they don’t answer the phone number two when you call for a specific department no one answers the phone. You have to leave a message. You leave a message and no one calls you back. How pathetic is that!!!
They get an F for health care providers…No wonder people go to Pensacola!!!!

I am on hold for 15 min currently writing this. I made an appointment to see my assigned primary physician to get a referral bc my insurance requires it. I go in to get it and nothing else just to find out they didn’t send the referral. I’ve called left voicemails no response. The only reason for my visit was to get referral to see a specialist. Terrible service.

I have been a patient at White Wilson since I was a child.Even when I moved to Ga I kept my same Drs and would travel down to do my visits because I do not like switching when they no my history.I have nothing but great things to say about this place and the Drs are amazing.Dr.Abrasley is so polite and very thorough in his office and great bedside manners at that.He is a great physician.Dr.Vigo is wonderful and the absolute best along with his nurse.I love these to .Dr.Chaney and Dr.Yuhico are great also.Im not crazy of the new heart dr but Dr.Fliecher was great. My grandkids also use the pediatrics.Yes sometimes it's a little long wait but these Drs often get called to the hospital in which it puts them behind.Just as if we were to have car trouble we would behind. So please don't have rude things to say about the Drs.

11/2024 update. We’ll call me a fool. Tried to give them another chance. Booked a wellness visit last month with a new provider, for tomorrow. Well just got a call saying they mistakenly booked me in an existing patient slot (which I am, I can t help it if their doctors bail every single year, which alone speaks volumes). Next “new” patient slot isn’t until March! What a joke this place is. AVOID!

3 different doctors in 3 years. They keep leaving and there is no continuity of care/relationship. I'll be searching for a different primary care provider that is not WW affiliated.

Horrible hospital! Went in for stomach pain and a migraine, left with stomach pain and a migraine 7 hours later!!! Still in the same shape I was before I went. The 1 star is for the amazing nurse that they ran ragged!

Just an edit…. Just got the Drs notes, they made up the entire day as to what they wanted….even my symptoms! Never even asked me that “checklist”, just listed as denied! They may have helped them! Even said I asked for a Catscan at last minute! I will be fighting this one all the way to insurance! No one lies as to my words!

Dr. Chinh Van, in immediate care, is extremely arrogant and does not like anyone asking questions for clarification or understanding. I believe that he feels challenged when people are simply trying to gain understanding in order to give their family member the best possible care going forward. Medically, he may be sound, I don't know, but I do know that he can use a bunch of work on his bedside manner. My family member ended up spending an extended period of time inpatient at FWBMC not long after being seen Dr. Van in immediate care. Over the course of these days, I spoke with a number of different doctors. There were many, many physicians, and ALL of them were courteous, humble, and gracious with great attitudes. Not one had a problem w/a family member asking questions. They engaged with me, understanding my family member's limitations at this advanced age. They never behaved as though they felt threatened. Many seemed appreciative that there was family interested enough to try to understand. They were awesome. Every single last one of them. Dr. Van, however, was rude. At one point I asked, "Do you think," and not even allowing me to finish my question, he said "No," assuming what I was about to ask. And even if he was correct in what I was about to say, and even if the correct answer was "no," that's not how you talk to people. Dr. Van would be well-advised to take a course in effective interpersonal communication. He definitely is no asset to White Wilson. Meaningful communication can be just as important as medicine.
