Concern Regarding Recent Experience and Treatment

Dear Family First,

As a retired disabled veteran who has prioritized my family’s care, I’m writing to express my disappointment with my recent experience at your facility. I live with multiple disabilities as a result of serving my country, and while I understand the importance of keeping appointments, I was deeply disheartened by how I was treated during my last visit.

During that appointment, I was reprimanded by Terri Green, who stated that if I missed another appointment, I would be denied treatment. To put this in perspective, I have missed only one appointment in the past 12 months, despite managing a demanding schedule that includes a minimum of 14 different appointments each month. On the rare occasion that I’ve missed a paid appointment, I’ve always taken responsibility by paying the required fee.

While I understand policies are in place for a reason, the manner in which this was communicated felt unnecessarily harsh and disrespectful. There were no courtesy reminders—no text or call, as I receive from other facilities—to help prevent the missed appointment. However, I did receive a letter from Terri Green threatening to discontinue my care.

This experience left me wondering if I was treated this way because of who I am. Respect and understanding are basic expectations in any healthcare environment, and I believe everyone deserves to be treated with dignity. I’m disappointed that this wasn’t the case in my interaction with Terri Green.

On a positive note, I would like to sincerely thank the doctor who treated me during my visit. Their professionalism and respectful demeanor were greatly appreciated.

While I had hoped to continue my care with your facility, I am now considering transferring to another provider who values their patients and treats them with the respect they deserve.

Thank you for taking the time to read my concerns. I hope this feedback encourages reflection and improvement in how patients are treated moving forward.

I just had the best experience at family first primary care today on 10/24. I've been coming here for a while now but never written a review before but I thought I take some time to do so today. The staff here are always pleasant and nice. The reason for this post is because I had the the pleasure of meeting and interacting with Amanda Lloyd the nurse practitioner and all I have to say was she was awesome. Not only was she very professional but she was down to earth and made me feel welcome and at ease. She has the heartwarming energy about her that you don't get alot of times at doctors offices. If your thinking about coming to this location all I can say is I definitely recommend and just wanted to thank Amanda personally for the experience.

If you have recently changed your insurance provider and are looking for a new primary doctor, skip over this one (I wish I would have). They cancel multiple appointments last minute and are under staffed. Being under staffed causes long waits and a really rude receptionist. If you cancel an appointment you will recieve a warning letter that you will have to pay a $50 fine for the next appointment that is cancelled or missed and the third will result in them dismissing you as a client. Well between my son and myself they have cancelled at least 3 of our appointments, really wish they practiced what they preach instead of sending out threatening letters. I recieved multiple referrals to specialist for myself and son and 80% of them were incorrect and not covered by our insurance.

I have been a patient at Family First Primary Care for 5 years. After 3 years my LPN left the practice. It seemed like every 6 months there was a new LPN, they never seemed to know your history, I was always having to explain my history, when clearly they has access to all my medical files. Finally along came "Amanda Lloyd!" Amanda is the best doctor Family First has had for the past 2 years! She knows what she is doing, cares about her patients, takes time to explain things clearly, answers your questions. She makes you comfortable.
My current insurance provider canceled there contract with Family First Aug 30,2024. I did not want to change primary care, so yesterday I had an appointment with Amanda Lloyd, out of network and paid 45% of the office call, just to keep Amanda Lloyd as my doctor. She is fantastic! I will be changing insurance during open enrollment.

As new Florida residents, it was tough finding the right family physician especially one that would provide the exceptional medical care needed for my mother in law. After witnessing the exceptional medical care Amanda provided to my mother in law, my wife and myself also selected her as our primary family physician. I have been going to Family First for three years now. Amanda Lloyd is so caring and helpful. She tries to get to the bottom of all my situations I bring to her. If she can't help she always recommends or sends me to someone that can further my care. She truly shows that she cares.

Hailee was extremely helpful when I came in for chest pains and rushed me to the hospital where I under went an emergency surgery. Both ladies where very understanding and caring. I would recommend them to all friends and family.
