I have been seeing Dr. Scholl for over 8 years. I live in the Palmetto Bay area and followed him from the Kendall area office down to the Leisure City / Homestead office. He is one of the most compassionate and caring physicians I have ever met. He is so good with older patients. Do I have to wait sometime? Yes. Do I mind? No, because I know if I needed the extra time, he would give it to me. In today's medicine where unfortunately a lot of doctors are pushed by managed care to do a volume business, Dr. Scholl still treats his patients as if they are more important than the bureaucracy running his business. Is his staff busy? Yes. Do you sometimes have to wait to speak with one of them? Yes. However, when you do, please remember that because they are so busy, Dr. Scholl is given the time to truly care for his patients.

Dr David Scholl took out the time to speak with my mom to explain detail by detail of procedures and exams that need to be done in order to get results for her condition. He is the last of the Mohegan they don’t make them like him anymore, and his staff is awesome as well.

I am a nurse and so far living in Homestead I have not found a competant. Let alone, caring doctor , but this doctor is both of those. He was awesome and truly cares. He was very thorough. His office staff is great.

My father has been seeing Dr. Scholl for over 20 years. By all accounts, he is a great physician. That's unfortunate because his practice is being run into the ground by a gaggle poorly educated, indifferent, incompetent, and often sociopathic office staff. My father, now in his eighties, was twice refused an appointment and made to delay treatment for a potentially serious health issue all because these Dunning-Kruger afflicted midwits don't understand their own insurance requirements. They simply could not comprehend that someone could reside in another state for part of the year, or that they might be inclined to see a local doctor while in another state. And because the out-of-state doctor happened to be the one my dad visited most recently, the staff member eagerly seizes upon this as her opportunity to play gatekeeper with an octogenarian in a lot of pain and distress.

Despite having a PPO with nationwide coverage, my father must now call his insurance company and do... Something? That wasn't made especially clear by the office worker with a lose grasp of the English language. My father complied, and his insurance company reaffirmed what he already knew. The next day he followed up with Dr. Scholl's office again to schedule the appointment. The staff AGAIN stridently declares 'No, the doctor will not see you' and AGAIN sends him back to the insurance company.

I personally talk to a representative from the insurance company, and he confirms that everything is in order and that there is no reason why the office staff should be playing these games. I ask him to please speak with this office staff to help us dispell this insanity, and he very kindly obliges.

Ok, so now we're set, right? Well, I accompany my dad to the doctor's office so he can finally book his appointment. This time, a different staff member points to a sheet of paper and proceeds to spout off the same primary care doctor/insurance nonsense that we've been through twice already. At this point I'm beyond disgusted (in case it wasn't obvious), and I'm trying very hard not to lose my temper. I'm now convinced that these people get some kind of sadistic gratification out of tormenting old people while making them jump through impossible hoops just to see their doctor. I attempt to calmly articulate to this woman why she's wrong, and to her credit, she at least had enough humility to consider the possibility and escalate the issue with her supervisors.

She said she would need to call "corporate". I found this telling because I don't remember Dr. Scholl's office having a "corporate", or being part of some larger conglomerate. Whatever the case, the cancer of bureaucracy and its accompanying ineptitude has absolutely taken hold here. The staff member returns from her chat with "corporate" and proceeds to book my dad's appointment. No acknowledgement. No "apologies for the mixup" or "sorry for making you wait needlessly and perform our ritualistic dance when you're in severe pain and distress". Instead, the staff member offers some half-hearted explanation implying that she's doing us some sort of favor. Unreal.

I've said some pretty harsh things here, but it's important to offer a true and accurate account of the absolute state of this place. Had it been one of their parents, I'm sure the staff members themselves would have viewed their own behavior as cruel and intolerable. I shudder to think about the experience of other patients who might be less able or willing to navigate the capricious and arbitrary process of making an appointment or just following up with Dr. Scholl. Judging by other reviews posted here, we're clearly not an isolated case, and I hope management will take heed and begin cleaning house before it's too late.

My review is based on a recent phone call in a attempt to schedule an appointment for my husband. Review is not about the doctors. Called and the attendant was extremely rude and not professional at all. She continued to talk over me and would not let me speak. I think her name is Mylie but not sure since she has a bit of an accent and i could not understand her properly. I called to schedule a first-time appointment for my husband and was not able to because she stated he needed to call. I explained he is not allowed access to his phone during work hours and their office closes at the time he is released. She did not even try to help me at all. This is my first time calling and i guess i will call our provider and change our pcp. This is not a very welcoming place, nor is it trustworthy to me based on my personal experience. I called back and asked for a manager and she said i have to call back, i asked for an email address to write Laura, the manager and she refused to give me any alternative to assist me or my dislike with her attitude. It's a shame that owners and managers do not take the time to train their staff appropriately to be caring and appealing to people in order to build strong trust and relationships. What a disappointment. This is a doctor's office in which people entrust their health and life, this is not a supermarket. Please do better!

My Father, Wayne Moore recently passed away but he loved Dr. Scholl. He always took the time to answer all of our questions. Even on the weekends, he was just a phone call away. He arranged for home health care and hospice when it was time. As a family we are so grateful for the care Dr. Scholl gave to our Father and is still providing to our Mother. Thank you Dr. David Scholl!
