I had a frustrating experience with the scheduling process for my stepdaughter, who is struggling and needs mental health support. The representative I spoke with after filling out the form talked too fast and didn’t listen to my requests. I found her to be quite insensitive, especially considering that I’m part of her support system as a step-parent.

The representative didn't even ask if the biological parent was involved or alive; instead, she quickly dismissed my role and basically told me that I couldn't make an appointment. As a nurse in the healthcare field, I believe compassion and effective communication are crucial in this line of work. If a team member isn’t equipped with good customer service skills and the necessary sensitivity, they might not be suited for a role in mental health.

I hope my feedback will help this organization improve their services for future clients and their families.

I'm doing so much better on my own now but last year when I went to this place for help, Doctor Trice gave me medication without parental consent. Nurse Amy was always rude and had a nasty attitude for really no good reason at all. Mr. Davi, Mr. Sal, and Ms. Jaz kept it real for me and I will always genuinely appreciate that. My therapist (can't remember her name, I just remember she had glasses), Doctor Trice, and Megan (the woman who did intakes) decided to kick me out of the program. They played it as if I made "no progress" but I was only in there for a month ! BayCare sucks, and if you're looking for a place that will really provide you the care and help that you NEED, this place is not it .

My daughter is autistic and relies on her meds to function. Baycare has a new Psychologist who refused to refill her meds until she can see her. Then she schedules an appointment for one month past her medications running out?!? They refuse to take my calls and do not seem to be bothered about my daughter's mental health. Key words continuity of treatment and patients rights, both of which are possible malpractice issues. Do you even see the liability? I am a paying patient with insurance, they do so much free government work that they forget. Unfortunately there are no other options right now so my daughter pays the price. Good job BayCare. If you wont to respond look up my name in your records. But why start now.

Currently removing my child from services here. She has been going for the last month or so to both therapy and psychiatry. Unfortunately, it was made clear that my child is just a number to them. They don't actually care. The psychiatrist is out sick so because nobody will return my calls or even help me when I went there today, my child has no medication. Sad and unprofessional. No communication and horrible phone system that only sends you to a voice-mail and it doesn't matter how many voice-mails you leave. Don't know when someone will return the call as the call still hasn't been returned.

In March 2022 I paid privately for an extensive neuropsychological evaluation for my 12 yo son who was diagnosed with ADHD. The Neuropsychiatrist recommended that he start meds ASAP (along with several other recommendations that we started immediately). I came to this provider with the report in hand. We have now been to 4 appointments completed the labs, EKG and had his primary clear him for meds as requested. Today, Dr. Minto, who is leaving the company, refused to prescribe, blamed her staff for not giving her any of the five messages that I left over the last week and a half and was snarky when I said his Primary had cleared him for meds, her response was "Well, is the Primary going to prescribe then?" After a very typical 2 hour wait per appointment and 5 months after receiving an 18 page report from a highly trained physician in this field, we are no closer to getting my son the treatment he needs. In addition, we attempted to use this facility for my son's counseling and after matching with the counselor and attempting to make follow up appointments, the availability to actually see the counselor is every 1 -2 months. As a social worker myself, I can tell you that is not even close to appropriate for adolescent therapy. As a mother and a mental health professional, I am sad that these are the types of services considered acceptable and available to our children in need.

Before I start I want to state that I absolutely love my daughter's therapist and the therapists we have had in the past. They are phenomenal at their work and seem to really care about their patients. That being said, I have been with BayCare Behavioral Health for my daughter for about 4 years now. The front desk has never changed. They are, at best, short and blunt. Very unpleasant to speak with. It is near impossible to get them on the phone. I have left two messages over the course of 2 days, and have heard nothing. Either change out the front desk staff or get some more hired hands to manage the volume of calls and clients. The front desk is the first thing that people encounter, and it can make the difference between clients staying or finding another site. If I didn't love my daughter's therapist as much as I do, I would have walked away already.

Absolutely HORRIBLE. Trying to call and make an appointment for an existing patient is nearly impossible. When it was time for my sons last review we had called for a week straight and had to keep him out of school because he couldn't go without his medications. I have now been calling daily for 2 weeks and not a single person has returned my phone call.

EDIT: Customer service responded below with a link that doesn't even include this location in the options. And it will not let me continue with a complaint until that is put in. AND STILL no return call from the center.

2nd Update: finally made an appointment the day of they called me to canceled it and reschedule it for another 2 weeks out (so he’s be without medication for over a month) the provider called out. Would not bridge his medication. We have now changed providers.
