This was the second time I had Baycare Home Care after almost a week's stay in the hospital each time. There was almost a different nurse every time. Some need to leave the profession. I have 2 different weeping wounds. One on the inner thigh, near the groin and the other one is on my calf, both on the left leg. Kim, haphazardly wiped the upper wound and used the same gauze to wipe the newer wound. When you called the office they were extremely rude. They did not order enough supplies through Byrum. It was a nightmare getting more supplies because according to Byrum the supplies that were ordered should have
lasted a month when in reality it was 3 days! I will NEVER use them again. They refused to give me wound care products while I waited for the Byrum debacle to get resolved even though it was there fault! They give BAYCARE a bad name!

Bear with me. As I write the s, I am more than just a little annoyed. I signed dad up for services and his care has been good. The continuity is severely lacking as they send someone different every time. And when I say “Cancel the appointment,” that does not mean “call me 18 times and when I refuse you, show up anyways.” Cancel the appointment means exactly “CANCEL THE APPOINTMENT!”

First impressions were great. The case manager explained everything and said to call anytime. PT/OT staff gave us ideas on how to make our home handicap accessible, etc.… But it was downhill from there. We kept hearing so and so “can’t make it,” A different person came each time effecting continuity of care. I guess that’s too much to ask for and should be grateful anyone showed up, until they stopped. They stopped showing up. Turns out they were canceling our PT/OT appointments and rescheduling without telling us. So, we were waiting for nothing, and they would have come when no one was home. I called the case manager who had said “call anytime.” She never called back. I would not recommend them.

Baycare home care has been working with my family for a few years since my father had fallen ill. The people who answer the phones when he called have helped him over the years and have been more than patient with a “not-so-patient patient”. Unfortunately he has recently passed on and the time came for his equipment to be picked up. Gratefully, services were dispatched in a timely manner for pickup. Now that the experience has settled, I think a learning opportunity could be brought to potentially improve other loved ones’ experiences. The gentleman who came to retrieve his things was may not have realized that his non-verbal queues were coming through but to say that he seemed annoyed to even be there would be an understatement. My mom put together everything she had for him not knowing what would be accepted or what would need to be thrown away. He was sighing as if he was being majorly inconvenienced, didn’t communicate as he rifled through a box of supplies which were strewn across the living room floor after he was done, and altogether did not have the warmth and humanity that we have come to know and love from BayCare. I hope that other families will have better experiences in their times of loss and the confusion that ensues after.

Baycare is very fortunate to have incredible nurses and supervisors to care for their patients. These heros sacrifice family time away from loved ones to serve their community and making people feel better, recover and heal. The low ratings don't take into consideration the sacrifices these angels make to be there for them throughout the year, on weekends and even during holidays. Ironically, some nurses/supervisors are scheduled to work both "Christmas eve and Christmas day" consecutively. Although i believe this is probably due from an isolated few, poor managers in the Baycare system and is reckless disregard for their staff, the nurses and supervisors will be there on duty to care for people. I commend them and wish them many blessing in the new year.

I have been trying since August of this year to get my portable oxygen machine serviced, and all
I have been getting is the royal run around. I finally got an appointment this past Tuesday and no one ever showed up and of course no phone call. They say all my calls have been noted and that the head supervisor will call me, well it's now Thursday and he hasn't called me either. My machine isn't working right and they are playing with my life now. This is utterly ridiculous and so very unprofessional. If you can afford to go to another health care place I urge you to do so.

All they care about is collecting their monthly bill because once they set you up with their machine you never hear from them again even though they are supposed to monitor this thing they don't. When you call for supplies you have to have someone call you back the next day and if you miss that call you have to do the same thing over and over until you actually get to the phone in time.....Horrible customer service...
