The department of health needs to check the mental health of the nurses or whatever they are working here. Went to take my kids immunization records. Just because I didn't have an appointment they don't want to help me. Speaking to each other and yelling in Spanish thinking you won't understand them, just because you decided to speak English to them. Very nasty attitude and use of profound words. They would rather utilize their time fighting among each other and refusing service instead of printing what I need. There were other people after me who came for their immunization records without making an appointment. I wonder if they were treated the same. I'm very thankful to the nurse who printed my records and it took her not even 30s. People who don't want to provide their services should be replaced with those who want. Extremely toxic and discriminatory environment. Felt like I'm in a 3rd world country, not Sarasota.

I had my cholesterol and blood pressure checked by Health in Motion Mobile at Elsie Quark library, Sarasota County. Marilee with Health in Motion provided the results and dietary suggestions to help reduce my cholesterol and blood pressure. This is one of the best experiences because Marilee also provided some methods for food preparation to improve my health. Thank you Florida Health for this service! If it was possible I would also love to attend a class taught by Marilee for healthy eating. She has a wealth of knowledge.

MISERABLE experience. I left traumatized with blood dripping down my arm…. I went in because I got recommended by planned parenthood (I’m still a teen). I needed to go in to be std tested because of a very traumatic and non consensual experience which made me even more nervous than I already was. I kept repeating to them that I have anxiety and have never had an appointment like this before. The lady who I assume was my doctor was super kind but the technician who tried to draw my blood was a TRAIN WRECK. She was a super young girl who spoke basically no English at all. She started to put the needle in but clearly missed the vain. She kept moving it in and out and pulling it all over my arm. Finally after about 5 solid minutes of her trying to get it in my arm I told her that I will just come back a different time. She called for her coworker while still attempting to put the needle in and out of my arm making me unable to get up. Her coworker came over and started talking to me about how important it is that I do this now and do not come back (in very broken English) while this girl kept shoving the needle in my arm. After he talked to me for about 5 more minutes with her still being unsuccessful, I told them I needed to leave immediately. At this point there was blood all down my arm and I was leaving the facility in tears. Honestly a traumatizing experience. Please if you get anxiety towards medical things, DO NOT COME HERE.

We are so grateful for the Health in Motion Bus visiting Bayou Oaks. My residents are seniors, many without transportation so the services they bring to us are phenomenal. Both Cathy and Marilee are wonderfully kind, compassionate and extremely helpful to my aging population. Bayou Oaks LOVES the Health Bus!

ABOUT WIC SERVICES:
The spanish lady with short black hair and pale complexion made a family member of mine cry. I accompanied her and she acted like she couldn’t understand my english when I’m literally american. She also displayed extremely unprofessional behavior towards other women in the office and just witnessing that is infuriating and heartbreaking. I wonder if she is aware that women go home stressed and crying because she woke up and chose to be an awful employee and fellow woman. The other ladies in the front office are very sweet but she is terrifying. It’s also bewildering how her supervisor has not done anything about her rude and unwarranted treatment towards women coming in for help and assistance. I just pray something is done for her to have a change of heart/perspective on what she is doing whether it’s subconscious or on purpose- treating another vulnerable woman with professionalism in her field and kindness should not be something one has to think about….

Cathy and Marilee from Health In Motion- Dept. of Health Services- visited Camelot Lakes Village today and provided many cholesterol screenings for our residents.
We thank them for their time and efforts! They took the needed time to explain the results. Both were friendly and efficient.
We would like for them to return and offer A1C and Glucose screenings, and other programs we can use to examine the health and lifestyles of our community.

Our company called and arranged for the Health In Motion bus to come out and provide immunization and health counseling services for our associates. From the initial phone call everything was handled perfectly. Our associates really appreciated the time Cathy and Marilee spent with them and we appreciate the services that they provided our team.

I will definitely schedule a return visit when the time is appropriate and have recommended Dept. of Health Services to other properties.
