I am writing to this review to share real experiences. I am expressing my deep concerns and dissatisfaction with the treatment and care provided to my Uncle, an elderly patient at Pinecrest Rehabilitation Center located at 13650 NE 3rd CT in North Miami, FL. The level of care he has received is unacceptable, and I feel compelled to bring these serious issues to your attention.

Neglect and Delayed Assistance

The staff takes hours to respond when my uncle needs to be cleaned. I have personally witnessed him ringing the bell for assistance, only to be ignored. On multiple occasions, he has been left sitting in his own feces for two hours or more.

The excuse given is that the CNA has too many patients to attend to, which is not an acceptable justification for neglecting a patient's basic needs.

He is oxygen-dependent, and one morning at 4 AM, he had to call me because his oxygen had run out, and no one was responding. I had to frantically call different numbers to get someone to refill it. This is completely unacceptable and dangerous.

False Documentation and Insurance Issues

Humana has denied further payment based on facility notes that claim he is a 3 out of 5 in terms of self-care, which is entirely false.

The doctor, who visited today, confirmed that he can hardly lift his leg and cannot get out of bed or use the restroom without assistance.

Humana has stated that he should qualify for home health services, but the facility must specify the necessary assistance. However, the social worker admitted that they only submit vague orders, leaving critical decisions up to the insurance company instead of advocating for proper care.

Poor Therapy and Nutrition

His therapy is inconsistent, and there seems to be no structured plan to ensure his progress.

The food provided is subpar and does not align with the patients’ dietary or nutritional needs.

There are bugs in his room due to improper cleaning. Instead of sanitizing properly, staff merely spray air freshener, which does nothing to address the issue.

General Neglect and Facility Conditions

Patients are often left unattended, lined up outside rooms with no apparent purpose.

The facility as a whole is in dire need of improvement. It is evident that many patients do not receive the care they require, and I feel especially sorry for those without family advocates.

This level of treatment is unacceptable, and immediate action is required to address these issues. With this review I am expecting change.I am hoping for corrective measures
to be taken to ensure that my uncle—and all patients—receive the care and dignity they deserve.

Excellent service for patients , very professional, friendly environment, friendly people, and nice and clean. There are no other rehabilitation than pine crest in North Miami. Christal social worker, manor one of the best nurse in the building Cna ms metyer also the short black lady the manager the kitchen staff evenly. Really nice people they care about their patients and their jobs I can’t think them enough I love you guys for everything yall done for my mom. I highly recommend pine crest

The neighborhood can fool you into believing that this place is not up to par. Don’t judge this book by its cover, it is nice and clean and updated. It is well staffed and everyone was very inviting and professional. My mind is at ease knowing that my mother will receive good care.

What a great experience I've had at Pinecrest Rehabilitation Center. From the minute you walk in you get a true welcoming from either Fran or Elizabeth. They always make you feel at home with their friendliness and kindness! Then the nurses and the rest of the staff on the floor are amazing. Mr. Torres and Ms. Roseline are always watching over her well being and always making her fell comfortable and happy! She ADORES them and the support they provide her.
Shanita organizes fieldtrips that giving the patients an opportunity to experience what they once enjoyed and loved. I had the opportunity to join them last week and the smiles on their faces were priceless, and it was wonderful to see all the employees interact with them and assisting them so that they could maximize their experience there! I also have to give a shout out to Leah, Rita, Jake and Laura in the therapy department. They work her hard everyday to reach her potential but at the same time she is smothered with love and encouragement, they are wonderful.
I have an endless amount of gratitude for Pinecrest Rehabilitation Center. I don't think there is a way to thank them enough!

"The primary purpose of my stay at Pinecrest was for the physical therapy, which I experience with phenomenal results. The first phase of my stay I was unable to bend my left leg since the infected joint had been removed and replaced with a spacer consisting of antibiotic cement. This part of my therapy enabled me to develop the physical strength necessary for the next chapter of my recovery. For the second phase of my experience, my new knee joint had been inserted and my physical therapy took on a different form. I can truly say my physical therapy made all of the difference. Not on was it intensive, it was valuable since it enabled me to reach a satisfactory level of functioning upon my dismissal.

Additionally, my weekly medical appointments were handled promptly with thorough efficiency and appropriate follow-up. All aspects were addressed, including preliminary test preparations and commencing with arrange transportation. It is obvious that every single member of the staff at Pinecrest are committed to high performance and try to provide a safe, warm environment for all residents. No matter the time of day or night, a friendly smile and warm encouragement was always present. From the top down, Pinecrest is the very best! The staff is not friendly and they don’t treat my Brother with respect and don’t acknowledge themselves when they enter his room as he’s blind. They’re not polite or kind to him and try to explain things to him as to what they’re doing like giving him his food and they allow him to sit in his wheelchair for hours without checking on him. I’m VERY disappointed in this facility.

I like Pinecrest Rehabilitation, the staff is ver friendly and they care about my son. My son is doing very well in this rehabilitation center. I always receives phone calls about what they want to do or his Dr. appointments. The nurses always include me in everything they do with my son. They respect the families decisions.
