A Heartfelt Thank You to Yolanda at The Center for Progress and Excellence

When I first connected with The Center for Progress and Excellence, I was assigned Yolanda as a substitute therapist while waiting for a provider that accepted my Medicaid. Though she wasn’t technically a therapist, she became my first introduction to any form of therapy—and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Yolanda was incredibly attentive, listening to all my concerns without judgment. She provided a safe space for me to express myself and even went above and beyond by researching queer spaces I could connect with, despite not having firsthand knowledge of them herself. Her support extended beyond just listening—she motivated me to pursue my goals and became a grounding presence in my life.

Living in an environment where my identity and self-expression are often seen negatively, Yolanda helped me recognize that I am doing everything I can for myself, and that in itself is something to be proud of. Her compassion and kindness made a lasting impact on me, and I am truly grateful for the time I spent with her.

CPE really helped my stepson and with his craziness. and the breakup with his girl. I really liked how mr Ed kept it real with us at the first meeting and did not BS us or speak to us like were stupid like previous counselors have done in the past at other places. Very understanding to. The other guy who was with him i think his name was Juan spoke with my girlfriend and did paperwork and explained everything to her so that she could understand. I liked him as well. they both gave us information to things that helped us that we had no idea existed. Keep up the good work guys thank you.
