Two visits in and I’m entirely disappointed in my experience. I needed routine bloodwork and a specialized blood test to monitor the progression of a diagnosed autoimmune disorder. On the first visit, the MA drew my blood with one hand, was ungloved, and video called someone on her cellphone with the other hand, all while having me in shot of the camera (HIPAA and OSHA violation). I was told by the MA that my test results would be emailed to me as soon as they got the results from Quest. A week and a half went by, and I neither heard from anyone nor received my results, which were needed for another medical specialist appointment. I called the office and asked for the results, and was told by a front office worker that they were irregular, they were unsure if they were allowed to send them to me, and that I would hear back on the matter in a couple days. I never received another call and had to call back a few days later to see if I could get my results. A different front office lady named Natalie (who was honestly wonderful) answered and sent them to me immediately. My labs were indeed irregular, the specialized blood test was not ordered, and one unknown test was compromised and needed redrawn (per Quest’s notes on results). I called the office again and asked to be seen by a provider to go over irregular bloodwork, get the specialized test drawn, and get the compromised test redrawn. In the second visit, I was taken back by the same MA and treated with exasperation for asking for the specialized test and a redraw on the compromised test. The lab results from Quest did not indicate which blood test was compromised, only that one was, so I asked if they would check my chart to see which test was needing redrawn, and was told that I would need to make a patient portal with Quest after my visit with them and ask Quest what their office ordered instead of them checking my chart or asking the provider what was ordered. I also did not see a provider to go over the irregular blood work, and when the MA finally drew my blood for the specialized test only (because, again, no one would check my chart to see which test needed redrawn), she did not clean the puncture site beforehand (this can contaminate the blood specimen, cause an inaccurate read, and cause an infection should bacteria get into the punctured vein). As both a medical professional and a patient who has chronic conditions that need to be closely monitored, this standard of care is concerning to say the least.

Dr. Salazar possesses a rare combination of medical expertise, humor and genuine kindness. He show compassion and empathy in every interaction. I’ve been a patient of Hollywood Primary Care for over 5 years. Dr. Salazar and NP Minerva are two of the most caring medical professionals I have ever worked with.
I read reviews before I became a patient saying the office doesn’t take patients on time on their appointments. And I agree with that BUT I have always been given the time I need to address my medical concerns. I have never been rushed out of there and never left feeling they didn’t listen to me.
Dr. Salazar does have a sarcastic humor personality, which took me a little bit to get use to. But he always means well, and it’s his way to bring smiles, laughter to his patients who are there 9 times out of 10 feeling sick, down, and horrible. So I roll with it. Cause at the end of the day, what I pay him for - his medical experience and patient care is great!

I have dealt with multiple medical conditions with this office, and they never gave up on me. It has been a combination of the typical medical treatments and out of the box thinking, but always with a holistic approach, that have helped me get treated. I am not forced or shooed away to just take a pill, like it’s a bandaid for my symptoms. This office will explore to get to the root cause of the situation. They will explain things clearly, and answer all my questions. My options and treatment, might be non-conventional, but I’ve learned to trust the process, cause it works.

I’m glad to have found this office. They are caring, compassionate, empathetic, knowledgeable, and kind. They really care about their patients health and overall quality of life.

I want to like this place since I had a good experience with Salazar and its so close to my home. However, I will never come back due to the extra charge and bill that was sent to me. I came in because I needed prescribed drugs to help fight my coughing. They wanted to run blood work on me and told me it was only going to cost $40 and needed to take swap samples from my nose to run some test. I got my drugs from the nearby Walgreens and started to feel better. However, I got extra bills from the labs for additional $144 for respiratory test and another $45 for blood work. If I knew I was going to get charged extra for these tests I would have never agreed to take them. I called the office to ask about the bill and was rudely brushed off to deal with my insurance. My insurance did the same and now I'm footed a total of $250 just for antibiotics.

Dr. Francis Salazar is a godsend. He’s a very patient Doctor who genuinely cares about his patients. He always takes the time to explain things in terms that you can understand. He’s diligent in making sure our health is the best it can be. The entire staff is wonderful. We would recommend Dr. Francis Salazar to anyone seeking a kind, compassionate, and brilliant doctor!!
