I really appreciate Dr. MacIntyre as my new family physician. She is very kind, friendly, and caring. I am extremely satisfied about how she discussed evidence-based medicine and how she understands the approved guidelines for the most common disease states. She discussed the guidelines with me and together we discussed the pro's and con's and determined the best pathway. It is great to have a physician that cares and is truly committed to improving quality care.

After having a hypertensive crises that landed me in the ER, I chose Dr. MacIntyre based on the positive reviews, figured I'd had such a great experience with Advent Health at the hospital and she was recommended by the ER team. During my follow-up visit Dr. MacIntyre had one task and one task only, to assess my blood pressure after being on meds for one month and to repeat the prescription which I was now out of. I was told the meds were working fine, my BP was normal and that the prescription would be sent electronically to the pharmacy. I asked again at checkout and was told again it would be sent electronically and would also be listed on my After Visit Summary. The woman at the front desk (Melissa) seemed annoyed that I questioned her, so I took the papers and left, but I stupidly didn't check the After Visit Summary in front of her, which I should have done. Upon arriving at the pharmacy an hour later, no prescription had been sent. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and returned to the pharmacy several hours later and still no prescription had been sent. At this point the doctor's office was closed, so I called first thing the following morning and spoke to another assistant who said the doctor was out of office for the day and didn't offer me any solution. I explained this was a life-threatening condition that had sent me to the ER and that I was without medication, and asked what was the problem sending my prescription to the phamacy after my visit, to which I received no answer. The assistant offered to send a message to the doctor and assured me she would be checking her messages, and that I would get a callback when the prescription was sent to CVS. Another whole day went by. Not only did I not receive a callback, I had to phone CVS at 5pm only to be told nothing had been sent, so they offered to fax the doctor for me. Two whole days without medication, finally on the morning of Day 3 I got a call from the assistant to let me know the prescription had been sent over, whoopee. The medication/refill was nowhere on the After Visit Summary, not a mention of it. No one at the doctor's office bothered to proofread or check what they're printing out and giving to patients. Incompetent, lazy, sloppy and useless are the words that come to mind, for something as basic as a simple follow-up visit. Never mind that she never even asked about my other health concern, osteoarthritis, nor did she offer any diagnostic tests to determine the extent of my condition. As soon as I mentioned I had no insurance and was self-pay, she was not interested. She casually mentioned "expensive P.T. sessions" and that was the end of that conversation. There was another woman arguing with front desk staff as I left, and they were being quite dismissive towards her. I should have taken that as a sign. I have nothing good to say about this experience with this particular physician, and needless to say will not be returning. I've now disputed the charge and will not be paying for services that I did not receive. No Rx was provided and it's not even mentioned on the After Visit Summary. I cannot trust a doctor with my literal life if they can't even execute a simple refill. This visit was a complete waste of my time, and now I have to start over again and find a new PCP, one who is both competent and caring, which this doctor is not, imho.

I went to Dr. McIntyre as a new patient. I was not given paperwork for bloodwork or a referral. When I called the office to let them know I hadn’t heard back from referral and that I had shown up for bloodwork, there was no order, I was told it was my responsibility to call the referral department. When I asked to leave a message for Dr. McIntyre to call me, I was told I couldn’t leave a message for her but had to leave one in the patient portal. Her staff was very dismissive.

Chose as new primary care provider but is challenging me on basic medications I’ve taken for several years ie migraine headache medication that works very well if I catch it early. Keep requesting and flat out ignored.

I finally found my doctor! Unbelievably kind and attentive. She did more in one visit than my previous doctors did in months. Highly recommend.

The front staff was friendly and didn't make me wait to sign in. The nurse that brought me back is awesome. She was friendly and kind and listened to what I had to say and I didn't feel rushed. Top notch nurse. The doctor was fantastic. I didn't feel rushed with my care. She took time to listen. It was a great experience for my first appointment and a welcoming change of past experiences

Dr. MacIntyre seemed alright, but because of how the Advent Health doctors are setup, it makes me hesitant to return. She set me up with the Collaborative Care that bills through her office. I was misled in how the process worked on the billing end, and was left with a bill over $400. They charged me for a "subscription" of sorts. When I argued the bill because I had no appointments for 2 months and was billed for them, I was told:

"Due to the care model and time spent on your case even when you are not in office, there are billable charges monthly for this as our physicians and psychiatrists take time to review and go over your records and confer with each other for the better standard of your care. We do apologize for any confusion surrounding this, the charges are correct and the balance is the patient's responsibility."

My biggest issue with this is that I was not told this when I canceled my appointments and, when i informed them it was because I could no longer pay, they did not cancel this absurd subscription based model. HOW is this ETHICAL? So, even though they did not see me for 2months, I am still responsible because they were looking at my chart? Ridiculous. I will pay the balance, but I could never trust this company or office again.

This is not the 1st time I have been surprised by bills with other providers of Advent Health. They are certainly a big company and it is impossible to talk with the office directly about any billing issues. If you just need a PC, she seems nice enough, but if you are going to be referred out or need any procedures in the future, they are far from transparent in what will become the "patient's responsibility" in the end.
