My husband selected Nestcare 9 months ago to care for a 94 year old woman who needs 24 hour care and no direct family. After 3 years and a number of different providers he was fortunate to find Nestcare. There is absolutely no comparison between this company and what his experiences were before. The care given is unbelievable. I always have access to the owner and know she cares about delivering the service we need. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone struggling with this need.

Nestcare to the Rescue!

Imagine yourself receiving a phone call in Michigan from a hospital in Florida saying your mother has fallen, broken her hip, and needs surgery. Meanwhile, you are 1,300 miles away recovering from your own surgery. What do you do?

This was our reality last March. Although our mother ended up having a successful surgery, we still needed someone to care for her in Florida because we couldn't be there.

Enter Nestcare! Kelly and Mike Smith are the owners AND active participants in this home health care business. Their business model was built upon fulfilling the need for more personal care among a sea of corporate-owned health care companies, often owned by Wall Street hedge funds.

Our initial contact was with Mike, who heard our concerns and immediately had his wife Kelly, a nurse, contact me. After speaking to Kelly, she went to the rehabilitation center our mother was in and assessed her needs for a smooth transition to her at-home rehab program.

Kelly pays close attention to the details that are needed for her clients to have a successful recovery. She suggested transport from the rehab to home options, then met our mother at her door when she arrived from rehab. Kelly and her excellent staff monitored the care and progress of our mother's physical and occupational therapy programs. They prepared meals, ran errands, and accompanied our mother to follow-up doctor's appointments.

As our mother healed, Kelly suggested reducing the amount of care that our mother needed as she recovered. Weekly emailed reports and phone conversations gave us an idea of what we would need for her transition back home for the summer.

In June, our mother was able to return to Michigan to our home for additional care. She fully recovered over the summer months. She now has returned to Florida for the winter. We immediately contacted Kelly and her team to do wellness checks on our mother while we continue to live in Michigan.

We are so fortunate to have found the team at Nestcare. We feel confident that our mother is receiving excellent, personal care while enjoying warm weather and regaining her independence.
