After reading the reviews I figured I would give them a chance regardless. So I called and I got the automated answering service where I was instructed to dial A number to become a new patient. I was put on hold while waiting for a representative. The automated answering service then advised me if I didnt want to hold I can visit their website and fill out all kinds of information and someone will get back to me. I opted to hold, and hold and finally said, I will call someone else. If that is the service they offer for new patience I would hate to see the service existing patients get. Btw, did it ever dawn on you that most of us need mental health doctors because nobody wants to answer a phone anymore You are strictly a business and could care less about people that need caring. To me this is unacceptable and I will try somewhere else.
Update: I decided to go to the website and sign up as a new patient that way. I filled out all the information and got to the end of the forms , submitted and received a THANK YOU. YOUR SUBMISSION HAS BEEN RECEIVED. Well that was 4 days ago. As far as I am concerned this company should be sued for being completely negligent. It looks like Med Psych is part of the problem and absolutely not part of the solution. F”in disgraceful. .

Edit: after my therapist retired I've had 2 more in system. Neither could access notes by Dr. Simpson. Even though I stayed in system so they could.
1. Therapist (1st one given after he retired) spent almost every single session telling at me and the last one over 30 minutes screaming at me. She answers phones, doors, played around with her doggie, and constantly checked the clock. Wouldn't allow cussing or me to be myself. I had to act the way she required I act. If I could have her license removed I would. Dr Mudura, please never see her. Completely America's and unprofessional.

The 2nd one after Simpson retired, I just stopped seeing because, well, she didn't listen. She would ask how I wanted to end sessions then would do that. Then now they are rating clients every week for evidence based therapy that doesn't hand evidence that it even works.
She discounted ALL my illnesses.
Both pushed a psychiatrist for ptsd which isn't medicatable unless nightmares or active flashbacks.

They both wrote down my one medication as being for anxiety and it's for seizures.

Neither are from Venice office but since Venice referred and I tried to go back through them for a MALE therapist which is what I asked for. But they sent me everywhere else. I wanted in person. They would only do telehealth and I hate being on camera. Gives me massive anxiety.

I, as of today, will be filing against DR. madura for unethical behavior. And fired the other they gave me because she couldn't trust me to even tell me if she had kids or anything. Nothing personal at all. No rapport. No connection. She was cold. And unfeeling.

Compassion lacked in both.

Dr Simpson, my therapist for 5 years, is a 5 + star rated therapist and y'all are unfortunate he is only doing bariatric. In all my years, he was the best therapist I ever had. Compassionate and could hold a conversation.

Helped me a lot to find out he lied about retiring. He still actively works. Lied several times.

I love my psychologist, Dr. Simpson. I could never have made the progress I have without his expertise. He is kind, compassionate and explains thoroughly every time I have had a visit. He is a definite asset to your business. He has helped me tremendously!

Your billing system is another matter. I have the first 20 mental health visits with no co-pay and yet the receptionist continues to tell me I have a $25 copay. I have called my BC/BS twice to verify my coverage regarding mental health. It’s not the receptionist’s fault, it’s something in your billing system that continues to show I owe the copay. It would be nice if your IT Team corrected this as I already having enough things on my mind I don’t need to have to worry about this as well.

I went in for one appointment with these people and they are completely unhelpful. When I showed up for my appointment there was no one at the front desk. When the receptionist did decide to return to work she looked like she had just rolled out of bed. The therapist was off-putting. She seemed snarky and stuck up. They wanted to see me 3 to 4 times a week, which I do not have the time nevermind the money for. When I told her this she said “ohhh maybe get a self help book then” and shuffled me out the door. I have been trying to cancel my next appointment that they scheduled me for THREE DAYS and NO ONE will answer the phone. Keep in mind if you don’t show up they charge your credit card. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS. I’m dropping by the office today to cancel my appointment and let them know how I feel.

I’ve called here everyday for the last month multiple times a day trying to set up an appointment for my son to see a Doctor and have yet to have my call answered. I’ve also left multiple messages. It’s like they don’t care or they need a new Receptionist. Either way very disappointed my doctor had recommended them said that they would be the best and I have yet to be able to set an appointment

Honestly I am shocked at how I was treated by this so called psychiatric facility. I was discharged without so much as an opportunity to speak with my actual doctor, the decision was based on some ludicrous and untrue reason brought to my therapists attention. I walked into my weekly session with my therapist and needed an actual session. Instead I was yelled at by a doctor Gregory Kantor whom I've never met and who wouldn't allow me to get a word in edgewise. Kathryn Blyss and Dr. Desantis are both excellent mental health professionals but to tear someone from their medical facility without so much as an actual discussion with MY doctor was disgusting. I am scared about my medication and I honestly wouldn't reccomend anyone go here.

I have used the services of a counselor at this place. Unfortunately it has been over a year . I have tried to call to set up another appointment. I have been on hold for well over an hour trying to access their intake department. Such inefficency is untenable. Unfortunately there are very few psychologists who take BCBS.
