Complete and utter chaos discrimination and unprofessional from start to end. I put much care into finding a dermatologist that fits my particular issue it took me months to research and choose a provider specifically for the condition(s) I have.

To start the issues I find with private practice is they have no one to advocate for the patients. The provider can do what they want based off biases. No one questions reason not even partners of the practice or a committee.

Which is why I have decided to take further action and post a detailed review. For other patients to be informed and know the truth and their rights.

When patients walk away with out voicing their concern or expressing their experiences nothing changes for the better.

All professionals should be able to recieve and hear the concerns of a patient about bedside manner and professional expectations of patients in the medical industry and if you are not open to it then you as a provider you are not ready to provide treatment for patients.

Patient/provider interaction should be a smooth & humane. I experienced quite the opposite at the Mont Dora location with provider HANNAH AHMED. I specifically choose this provider due to the information provided on The dermatology group website I live far from this location. I did not want to take a provider that did not specialize in my conditions. When they could be helping another person with more serious condition.

On day of my visit, they gave me a cost of estimated service charges, even though they are an in network provider through my insurance. They insisted I had not met my deductible even though I had. I left before completing my visit so that I could call my insurance company but they charged me anyway for office visit. Said I would get a refund if my story was true. Crazy part, they billed my insurance for less than they collected from me at checkout (the full amount to satisfy my deductible). Now I have to fight for a refund because guess what I did meet my deductible as I told them. But what a scam to bill for less than they collected from me out of pocket. Stay clear of sheister billing practices

Has always been a pleasant business to have near our neighborhood. Even with the traffic from Walmart, Target, Wawa, etc, cutting through. It's has kept great curb appeal. The unfortunate part is that Lake County has the school bus stop set in front of this office. After hours, they block the parking lot with a truck and trailer. I am sure this is so people don't continue to cut through the property. It has forced the children to walk through the busy area now that parents can not park right next to the drop location.

Use this group for several years as self pay (no insurance). At my last appointment in 2023 the doctor started treating me for pre-cancer spots on my scalp and told me to come back in six months for a follow-up. Before the follow-up I turned 65 and got a medicare advantage plan (Cigna PPO) that listed this group as in network. A week before my appointment the office called and took my insurance info. The day before my appointment they called and cancelled my appointment because they said they don't take my insurance. I said I would self pay but they said it was against the law and would not re-schedule my appointment. So now I am left hanging not knowing if my pre-cancer treatment worked or if there is any follow-up treatments required. I feel like my health care is being used as a pawn between the Longwood office and Cigna in some kind of contract dispute.

I called before I made my appointment and asked if they were in Humana PPO network I was told yes.I went through the entire exam and when I went to make my copay I was charged $65. When I asked why I was getting charged $65 I was told it was because they were not in the network. I am very angry over the fact that I ended up having to pay an extra $25.00 for the appointment when I was told they were in network. I highly suggest that if you call them and ask if they're in Humana Network and they say yes that when you get to the clinic you ask the receptionist if they're in network before you go through with the appointment.

Check in was easy. But my overall experience was horrible. The gowns are not meant for plus sized women and I had to close the blinds in the room. After taking the time to fill out paperwork about my issue and speak to a nurse immediately upon entering the exam room about my issue. I was immediately irritated when the PA walks in without having even looked at my paperwork, the notes the nurse wrote up, or even talking to the nurse. I am already anxious and nervous as is and I have to keep saying things over and over. She was very in my face and would ask me a question and then before letting me answer she just would suggest answers that only made me more uncomfortable. She was disrespectful and wouldn’t take no for an answer when I was uncomfortable with her exam. This was a miserable experience and I left in tears. I can’t believe she treats patients like that. I was so uncomfortable I didn’t even continue with all of the other things I had hoped to discuss because I wanted to get out of there so badly. The vibe when she walked in the room was so uncomfortable and then she seemed surprised when I looked upset by her actions. Unbelievably, unprofessional. She didn’t even wash her hands or put on gloves, shameful. On the other hand, The nurse was very kind and had a calming presence. If she hadn’t been there I probably would have just walked out. I know my anxiety was a big part of this experience, but the PA’s actions and lack of respect and patience made it much worse.

Great experience from the first phone call, checking in, nurse, doctor everyone made my so feel special. They explained everything even went overboard to make sure our questions were answered.

I can't say enough good/great about The Dermatology Group in Mt Dora. Every single person, the office personnel, PAs, and doctors do an exemplary job. It has been a wonderful experience being under their care.
