Deathstance is more like it.

It seems like none of the providers have any faith in the company. I know one former employee that left because of the way billing and administration treat the patients like they are worthless.

I’ve received good care from the providers I have worked with but anytime I ask a question through the patient portal I have not received a reply. I understand sometimes it might take a day or two but it’s been almost a month and very direct questions are going unanswered and I believe ignored.

The company asked me to upload a new copy of an insurance card and I did, immediately. What was the reward for doing what was asked by the company? They cancelled the appointment I had scheduled in my previous session. Every question I have asked since has been ignored and not answered.

Getting tired of not getting replies I called the corporate number for Deathstance. Once someone called me back and listened to me explain the story they apologized profusely and told me that there wasn’t a good reason that the questions I was asking were not being answered. They did let me know that at least one of my messages had been forwarded to the manager of billing and they would definitely write me as soon as they saw it. Well it’s been a week, no new messages.

I’m sure they’re swamped with complaints if this is how they treat all of their patients.

If you are looking for a smooth mental health experience, this is not it! If you’re looking for a team of professionals, look elsewhere! If you’re looking for mental healthcare that will gaslight you and negate the positive work you do with a provider and will make the rest of it more difficult this is it!!

Seriously though, this is complete garbage and you could probably do better for yourself by developing a hard drug habit and punching yourself in the face.

If you want to have increase in your anxiety, while treating your anxiety, then this is the place for you! I have never had to jump through so many hoops to just get someone on the phone for medication. They have no help on the weekend, they do not call you back and when they do it is a service that cannot help due to HIPPA laws. Their online portal, that they tell you to use is ALWAYS malfunctioning. 2 times I had a Dr I had been seeing leave their network and NO ONE notified me. They are saying they are treating mental health and instead at least 3 times they have created mental health crisis and high levels of stress to my life. Stay clear of them for your own health!

Absolutely terrible. I have been a patient at this building for over 5 years before it was Life Stance, once it changed it went downhill fast. The only reason why they have good reviews is because they had them carried over from the previous medical provider. I used to get billed $150 for a once every 3 month visit, now I’m getting billed $900 every single month…. And they didn’t tell me it would be that much. Sneaky… the new Doctor I was given is horrible. No wonder the waiting room is empty.. now I have to call billing to resolve this over charge, and I have been on hold for 25 minutes. I never leave reviews unless they are super good or super bad… this is def super bad, I hope people read this and think before coming here. This company is not made for Glendale. Glendale people are much more friendly than this.

Dr. Alexanian was recommended to me by a trusted physician several months ago. He is extremely pleasant and calming to speak with and has found a good combination of medications to help me feel so much better. LifeStance is very easy to work with. They have an excellent portal; professional and comfortable offices for those who prefer in person appointments and great video conferencing for remote appointments. My insurance is accepted and I've had no issues at all with billing.

I’ve only worked with Dr. Penciu and he’s been great but the billing department is absolutely terrible.

They sent me a bill last week (it’s November 2023) for services received at the start of 2022 claiming I have additional charges because I was not covered by insurance during that period.

Somehow this discrepancy never manifested in the actual bills I received nor did anyone notify me that my insurance info was out of date. While I have no documented record of communicating my insurance info to them because I likely did this over the phone— no discrepancy was ever communicated to me until just last week.

Yesterday I followed up with them to show proof of coverage for 2022 only to have them say they can’t submit the claim as it’s now November 2023 and that I need to pay.

This has been a very frustrating experience to get support and consistency for online therapy. My family and I are disappointed that we encountered multiple occasions to have our assigned therapist cancel the appointment at the last minute. I cannot get in contact with anyone in the office to discuss my concerns, either. The listed phone number on the website is for an office in Temecula. This really puts into perspective how difficult it is to get quality therapy through an online service.

I use the teleheath and my provider is always kind, professional and detail oriented. It’s been a couple years and it helps to feel like he knows me. He’s a very good person.

Patient abandonment . I was part of MCLA med group before it switched to LifeStance here, and my psych left her practice without notifying me, and the office did not notify me. I only found out when I called back to get refills and suddenly I'm informed everyone is gone, it's now lifestance, and the only way to get my meds is to make an appointment with someone my insurance no longer covers. $600 for them to talk to me for 5 min and give me the same exact meds I've been on for 8 years. This was totally unethical. So I had to find new psychs and the process has been a nightmare. With my frustration, disdain and absolutely no psychiriatric support at all I tried to taper off my medications slowly over three months. but it was not long enough and the terrible withdrawals landed me in the hospital for a week. I am traumatized and untrusting.

These new companies don't care about patients, it's all about money. it seems they aren't aware of the severity of what they prescribe; the black box warnings, the side effects, things that can really ruin peoples lives if medication is discontinued too fast. No one knows how to taper off these medications properly to avoid hellish effects. There is very little research for that. The people doing this work are like me, actually being guinea pigs, and finding out safest ways to taper so others don't have to experience torture on earth.
